I see some Smallbox vids from a couple years ago, are those parts 1 and 2 to this? My 2014 Smallbox is my test standard for all other amps that cross my path. Kitchen sink out, Smallbox in? Say it ain't so my brother! I did hear you say just now that this was the best rythem tone you've ever had.
Correct! For my Tele the sink did not have a good crunch to my ears. Ch 1 was just ok too. Bummer because it has the best master volume and many other amazing features too 😊
@@cragginshred The KS does have some great features, especially that master hybrid bypass. Just noticed you're running the Friedman cab in this video but you've mostly paired the Smallbox with an EVH cab in your previous sb vids. Are you liking your Smallbox more with the Friedman cab these days? I prefer mine with my Friedman 4x12 with all greenbacks (not the stock V30s in the bottom). I'm guessing the stock setup with two V30s is best for cutting through in a live mix but in my home studio, 4 greenbacks wins for me. Nothing wrong with the EVH cab either, it's a solid performer. I've got another Zilla 2x12 (Big Block) being built right now. Going to load it with two of the Mojotone V30s. They sounded fantastic when I tried them in my other Zilla 2x12 but the Alnico creams were much gentler to my hearing for everyday playing and practice so I went with those for that 2x12.
Thanks! Yes, but I took the V30's out. All greenbacks. I have a Marshall 4x12 with 1990 Greenbacks that sounds similar but not as full low end -by design. Marshall has that sizzle due to it's design. Both are great and complement each other when used together much to the neighbors chagrin 😵
@@cragginshred How did you choose that Friedman 4x12 over the three other models they sell? I believe all have 2 Greenbacks and 2 V30s, so- was it a better cosmetic match? (I'm in the market for a Friedman 4x12 to pair with Smallbox 50)
