It really is. As a kid, you were stuck in a classroom with other kids and play with them daily during recess, so you'd naturally become friends. As time goes on , you get less and less of that. I went to a commuter college and made no friends. No hang out space there. And the ones that did hang out there were straight out of HS. I was 24+ in college. I is SO hard.
Lol at this point I feel no shame looking this up. I just miss having friends or a BFF and all it entails. I've been isolated too long 😭 and anxiety doesn't help one bit

GENERALLY ..Girls don't make friends on internet due to thinking that they will find cringey guys because girls faced a lot those guys. Some Boys act like idiots on internet and ask directly anything which pisses off every girl. P.S. I am not part of that shit😅 because I do not get free time from my heavy studies.😆😀.
I don't use friendship apps because my parents want me to meet my friends in person. But since the virus is happening, so I'd have to catch up with my actual friends.
