I always play it cool when I get into a group like that...you don't know what their group mentality is or who is who. I just try to fit in some way and kind of agree with everything. I assume it's a group you have to be in...like a new school or new job? In a week or so you will get the lay of the land and begin to see who you mesh with. I usually find the people I first think are really cool...aren't...and the ones who kind of seem standoffish are more like me and just trying to give it time to figure ME out. I try to participate in things they are doing so I look like a friendly person...even if I am quiet. In a month or so you will start to get in the groove and the group will accept you and you can begin to form friendships.

Yeah it's like when you go to college, everyone have a group of friends from high school or from the same town except me, "the outsider".

I have friends and a bestfriend who ive known for a very long time, but the problem is that my bestfriend is extremely negative, doesn’t bring me really happiness and very selfish plus rude. I consider her my bestfriend bc she is the only friend i can actually trust and i want a nicer friend who i can trust! That’s why im here lol

Ugh yes! When we no longer have school as a place to meet people, it can be difficult to find a group we really fit in with. But if you try finding meet up events for hobbies you enjoy, you'll definitely meet some cool new people!

Maybe there is a community volunteer group you can join. I am secretary for our county fair and also part of a group that organizes another big local festival. I've made a few incredibly close friends and lots of other to hang out with.

Oy yes, we all feel that way. But, you just got to keep in mind that even if you strike out, it's not personal. You're just going to click better with some people than others. And once you find the people you click with, working past your nerves will have all been worth it.

Try cutting them all out. If anyone asks why or feels hurt, there's a good chance those who do may be more worth your time. Apologize and dedicate more time to them, see where it goes. On the flipside, if you cut ties with those friends and none of them bat an eyelash or say anything, this can sometimes be better. If they aren't upset about seeing you less or even not at all, then you shouldn't be either. You just freed up your schedule to find people who will care about hearing from you! As far as getting away from those friends, there isn't a need to be uncivil about the matter. Just take a break from seeing people, fill your time up with other responsibilities or hobbies that don't include them. See how long you can stretch it, take note of how they respond. And my last tip? Don't make one of those "cutting out the fake people from my life," posts or carry on about it in such a manner. That draws negative attention, hurts your rep and will actually make outsiders unsympathetic with your case. Do it quietly. Discreetly. And respectfully. This gets you a better chance of finding friends to keep if none of the first 100 really stick. And a question for you to think on before you go about this: what do you define as a friend? Is it someone you know their first name? Played a game with them before? Really question yourself on what you want and need out of friends, and more importantly what, if anything, you are doing to meet them halfway. Be yourself, but more importantly, consistently be yourself so that it is simple to get a grasp on who you are and what you like, again for the purposes of simplifying forming the right friendships. Tl;dr, take a break from these friends and either keep the ones who want you back or work to find someone who you truly connect with

Delete social media. Go outside. Do something that is your hobby. Strike up a convo with someone that has great vibes. Keep in contact. Go somewhere else with the new friend! :)
