Today I am sharing a flip through of Friendly Biology. This is the high school science course that I switched my ninth grader Bella to after we found that her previous biology course was just taking her way too long. So, although her old course was very thorough it just didn't fit into her day.
Sorry for the poor lighting and where my camera wasn't focusing... it was a very gloomy and cloudy day when I filmed this.

I haven't heard of this curriculum, I usually use Focus-on, but good to know when my kids get older,.... they are still in elementary school.

Hi. Does the secular version teach evolution? Focus on biology claims to be secular but avoids the topic of evolution altogether. I'm in search of something that teaches evolution. Thank you for the video!

We haven't seen anything about evolution in this course. I taught both Christian worldview and evolution to my kids, so I never thought to check before 🙃. Thanks for stopping by!!

Did you need to buy a lab kit as well?

I didn't see a lab kit option for Friendly Biology. I had a biology lab kit from a previous course that didn't work out, so I ended up using that kit so it didn't get wasted.

Which was the former course that was taking her too long? Was it Apologia? Because we are looking into Apologia, but she’s not super science minded. I came across this one and the name itself is making me feel better.

She was using D.I.V.E. Biology before (also known as Shorman Biology). We've been using Friendly Biology for a few months now and she really likes it. It is a more relaxed/basic curriculum. It does break things down to make it easier to understand the concepts. We are looking into Friendly Chemistry for next year.
