The two, brief days were excellent in Cairns. As I remarked to another viewer, I'd return in a nano-second to Australia if I didn't have to gut out the extremely long and expensive flights. Can't have everything I guess. Thanks for watching and best regards, Sheila
Steve and I were amazed at the quantity of restaurants and things to do in such a relatively small town. I'd schedule another vacation in this area in a flash but have to wait until memories of how difficult (and expensive) tickets were to reach Australia have to vanish (or blur out). Best, Sheila
I have been no further north than an hour or so past Brisbane. I am looking forward to this series. The hotel looks very comfortable and what a splendid view! Sheila, there is no question about it, you are a travel genius! Your travel wisdom simply has no limits!
"Travel genius" is really going some, Daniel. I wish! But, after Cairns, none of the videos takes place in Australia. It is all about the L'Austral Melanesia cruise. Hope you aren't disappointed. Sorry to those viewers who expected an in-depth Australia visit. The hotel was great!
Thanks again for following the different videos in this series. It was a very nice Holiday Inn and I loved the location, right next to the fantastic walking/biking bath along the ocean.
Sheila Simkin My pleasure! I don't have time (+money😄) to go travel around the world since I'm just a student. One of my favorite time of my life is to watch your video which makes me feel travelling around the world!
I most certainly didn't have the money to travel (other than once a year) when I was younger so I completely understand! I'm very glad you enjoy the videos and thanks again for your loyalty!
I;m glad you enjoyed your time in Cairns. I think North Queen Queensland is one of the most beautiful places on earth, However with all the jellyfish, crocs, poisonous this and that and those deadly birds, a wrong decision can have consequences. Last time I had to sign a waver to take a hike in the rain forest. Also love the Esplanade in Cairns. Lots to do, see and eat.
Sheila, don't know how long you are going to be in North Queensland. But if you go up north to Port Douglas, you should do Breakfast with the Birds. It is a good experience....
Unfortunately, we were in Cairns for 2 very quick days. We did visit Port Douglas eons ago and all I remember is the jellyfish on the beach and everyone was told not to swim! I am really sorry that we didn't spend more time in North Queensland. Everything is 20/20 Hindsight, isn't it? Thanks for your suggestion, comment and taking time to watch the video. Best, Sheila
Since Steve and I rarely travel in the U.S., I can't say, yes or no to your comment. And when we do travel in the U.S., we have been known to stay at the least expensive motel. U.S. motels/hotels are expensive here compared to other countries. This Holiday Inn was excellent with good food, extremely friendly staff, and great location. Thanks for watching!
You are absolutely right!! I mean same brand hotel, in CANADA/US, are much worse. Hope you have a wonderful stay at Australia, don;t forget on your way back, please do a lounge review for both Singapore/Air Newzealand lounges!! Which airline do you fly?
Way, way ahead in February, you will see my Air New Zealand Lounge video taken on the homeward bound trip. We flew ANA from Sydney to Tokyo Haneda and changed to Narita, still on ANA for the non-stop to Chicago.
