Dylan Barrier was seriously injured after he fell and hit his head while skateboarding. His family made the tough decision to take him off life support.
I lost my husband eight years ago and the only organ that was still viable was his corneas. I received a letter from the eye bank a month later stating that they were successfully transplanted. Someone that couldn’t see yesterday could see today. I imagine they thank my husband daily, it helps me. Organ donation did help me in my grieving, please everyone consider donating.
Repent to Jesus Christ “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”” 1 Peter 3:12 NIV
My husband was suffering in an ICU for months very near death. I was so sad I was in pain for his suffering. Then someone donated him a new heart. Hes alive because of his donor.....he appreciates life every day...
u see the little things that u have can mean so much to someone else and its so beautiful how lucky people r to donate and save a life and to carry it with you knowing u saved someone just so they could be in a better place. Mashaallah 🌼🌸💖
@Ann Gardner Thank god for the organ donor and the brave family, who have given your husband life. It shows just how precious life is. I am happy that here, organ donation is now opt out, rather than opt in. I would definitely love to give the gift of life, it’s the ultimate gift. Such a heartwarming story. God bless you, your husband and the donors family. ♥️🙏🏻
God bless the family for giving so mamy other families the gift of life youre so brave theres a special place in heaven for your family and thank you sending you peace and love fr SF bay area❤️
Lost my younger boy, 8, to cancer 10 years ago. Cry EVERY day missing him. Kinda know what you all are going through. Your boy saved many lives...may he rest in peace and may you, family and friends, stay strong, somehow.
@@jamiemackay1037 thanks, Jamie. I appreciate your thoughts very much. Things only got worse, 3 1/2 years my beautiful wife Theresa was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. She passed away Feb. 11, 2016. BUT(!), I still have my older boy Timothy, thank God. He's now 22, we are ONE ANOTHER'S rock, to the best of our abilities. Thanks for your thoughts...stay safe and healthy. ✌️Matt
Reaching out to you with compassion my friend. Irreplaceable loss. Just hold on. Hold on. Clench your teeth and hold on. I am a mother of a 20 yr old. My heart goes out to you.
Sorry for your loss! Lost my son in May 14 2015, he was 32. He was my only child. Everyday I wake up with him on my mind, going thru the motion of day to day life. Wearing a fake smile an saying doing good and you!
I really think we underestimate how unpredictable life and death is, like we all assume we're going to live one specific age. When that is definitely not what happens. Imagine something so simple like skateboarding or another activity ending up being the reason a life is lost. It can be anything. Slipping on a wet floor or stairs. Getting hit. Like we should appreciate the small things more every day.
As a nurse, there's no worse pain on the job, than the loss of a patient. I salute not just my fellow nurses involved in this young man's care, but also the medical staff & the rest of the hospital staff involved in this young man's care. I salute all of my fellow healthcare & medical professionals. 💜. RIP to that young man 😢
I work with Nurses, man y’all dedicating. Hard work and the time y’all take to make sure someone is comfortable during they stay. I know it takes so much of y’all but y’all still come to work and still press on. God the world owes y’all so much more! This entire time, the sacrifice you have taken during this pandemic. Your dedication, I salute you and I honor you so much! From everyone who has ever cross those doors in the hospital. I thank you and America loves and appreciate you
Typical narcissistic nurse more concerned with themselves and their status than the actual patient. Look how much you talked about staff and then how much about the boy. The field attracts so many people like you who just want to look like a good person. I bet you cheat in your relationships
The heart beating in my brother's chest came from a young man who checked the donor box on his driver's license. That young man saved several lives by doing so. Every hospital should have an honor wall where the names of the heroes who have donated organs that saved lives are inscribed. It should have next to each name the number of lives saved and the number improved as a result of their sacrifice and generosity. The wall should be in a conspicuous place where the public can see it.
So why don't you talk with the powers that be and give them this suggestion....that would be ... the the appropriate people....not just someone who works there. Im sure some hospitals in your area have transplant units. That's were I would start...if they tell you it's not up to them or just kinda nod without any follow through ask the individual where u should go to give this suggestion to.
i knew a man who checked that little box on his driver's application, and ended up saving two little girls after he passed, supposedly (just what i read from his family on social media). i will forever be a donor just off that story alone. i don't need my organs once i'm gone.
The most important decision you will ever make is where you will spend eternity. THIS IS GOD'S ONE AND ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN: In the beginning, God created Adam and Eve and wanted to have perfect fellowship with them, but He gave them 1 rule to obey and that was not to eat of the tree in the middle of the garden called, "The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil" Adam chose to disobey and sinned against God and this broke that perfect fellowship between man and his Creator. Because of this, the curse of sin and death came upon them and all the human race. Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: In order to enter into heaven, there are a few things you must understand. You must understand and acknowledge that YOU are a sinner and your sin separates you from God. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 1John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. A holy, righteous God cannot allow sin into heaven and sin must be punished. God's price for sin is death, not just a physical death, but death in hell in a lake of fire. Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. In the Old Testament times, when man sinned, God required them to kill a perfect, spotless lamb and to sprinkle its blood on the altar as a sacrifice for their sins. Jesus Christ, God's Son became that perfect, spotless Lamb that was sacrificed for the sins of the whole world. It was His blood that satisfied the just demands of a holy God. John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. Jesus loved us so much He WILLINGLY came and allowed wicked men to spit on Him, mock Him and beat Him until He was unrecognizable. They stripped him naked, thrust a crown of thorns on His head and drove nails into His hands and feet. He hung in agony for hours bleeding. He died in our place so that we could be saved from going to hell. There is no greater love than that! John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. The good news is that Jesus didn't stay dead in the grave. He came back to life 3 days later just like He said He would. And that proved that He was God! No one else could do that. Matthew 28:5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. 6. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. Jesus did all this because He wants to give you the free gift of eternal life in heaven with Him! You cannot do anything to earn your own way into Heaven. You can't work for it, be baptized for it, go to church for it or try to be good enough for it. It is a free gift that God is offering to anyone who will simply receive it by faith. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9. Not of works, lest any man should boast. God said there is only one way to get to heaven, but it is not hard. You must admit you are a sinner and that you understand that the punishment for sin is eternal torment in hell in a lake of fire. You must understand that Jesus took that punishment for you when He died on the cross and shed His blood to pay for your sins and that He rose from the grave 3 days later. That is the gospel. If you believe these things, then all you have to do is humbly admit to God that you are a sinner deserving of hell, but you believe that he paid for your sins on the cross and rose again 3 days later. Ask him to forgive you and be merciful to you and give you eternal life. Thank Him for His saving you. Romans 10:9 that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 13. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Let me warn you though, that if you don't get saved, and you reject God's sacrifice for you, you are already condemned and will suffer the torment of burning in hell for eternity in a lake of fire where you will be forever separated from God and all that is loving and good. God is holy and you must come His way or no way. John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Please don't wait. Don't take the risk of putting it off until another day, repent, turn to Christ NOW because you aren't guaranteed to live another day on this Earth. Believe God's Word and call on Him today!
18 years old, he was just skateboarding like many young people his age and he lost his life. it's so sad and beautiful that his organs go to save 8 people. I'm upset, he's in heaven
They wanna look cool and skate sans helmet so they knew the risks. Dude was 18 not a child. An adult should know to put their safety before their "cool factor" That said, R.I.P dude 🍺
@@haydenmorehouse4864 I have a brother who skates, he came home many times injured and with horrible injuries, it doesn't mean that he didn't put his safety first "to look cool" but because he really enjoyed it, it made him happy, when you skate if or if you are going to have injuries because it is something difficult, his eyes shined when he got a trick and he always came to tell me about it, I don't like him to get hurt, but I like to see him happy, and I know that despite everything he will continue skating, and he is already an adult ;) Sorry if something was not understood, English is not my first language.

@@haydenmorehouse4864 , 18 yo are still kids, just because they turn 17 to 18 doesn't mean that they will learn life suddenly.. Dear lord. Crying my eyes out. I remember when the whole hospital stuff cried for my 27 year old sister when she passed. I will never forget that day never.
I'm so sorry for your loss...Do you know it was promised by God in the bible that you will see your sister again here on earth, "the hour is coming in which all those on the memorial tombs will hear Jesus voice and come out." John 5:28,29. And God will "wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor pain be anymore." (Revelation 21:4) Please hang in there, and I'm so sorry for your loss 😢

I can't imagine the painful decision these parents had to make to let him go. Difficult to comprehend a young 18yrold just doing normal things like skateboarding & never waking up again from injuries. He will live on in so many lives he has touched. May God grant peace to his grieving family. RIP

I lost my love when he was just 21. His organs saved many lives. We don’t need them when we pass on and you live on saving other lives. Rip. Mathew and Dylan. Your hero’s
If the parents ever scroll through this comment page, know that the expression on every one of those peoples face was love. May your son always be with you.
My school nurse was waiting for a heart transplant for years and finally someone as brave and selfless as this young man gave her their heart. She is now 68 with a 30 year old heart and thriving, she can continue to help other from the help of the donators ❤️ rip young man this is such a tragic way to pass
@@bently629 its why i get aggravated (not quite old enough to be the grouchy old guy) when i see kids ride skate boards without helmets. like i know you are good on em so was i but you may not see that little pebble that turns you into a vegetable.
None of us are immortal, we have expiration dates. Condolences to the family of Dylan, to lose a child is almost unbearable. In your heartbreak you remembered others, who wouldn’t have a chance to enjoy life if it weren’t for Dylan’s gifts.
My cousin (Ashley Allphin) was an RN a newlywed, and the only cousin I had who accepted me. She was on her way to work when she was struck by a drunk driver speeding the wrong way down the highway. I'm so proud that she had already chosen to be an organ donor. While her death was a terrible blow to our entire family, it helps to know that her even after death, she continued to be able to help patients as she loved to do so much in real life. I am an organ donor because if something happens to me, I know the difference that it can make for other people. Thank you, Ashley. I love you and miss you every day, your nephew still carries around the little doctor bag you gave him, it's been three years, but he still carries it around calling it his aunti box.
I have severe depression and stuff like this just makes me have to appreciate life while I'm here blessings to his family this is a sad situation and he was so young❤️❤️
That was beautiful and tragic. Never heard of the hero's walk or the tradition of lining friends and loved ones up to say goodbye. A lovely thing to do and very moving. Well done to the family for honouring their son's wishes and being able to see beyond their own tragedy to, probably, save the lives of others. Your son will live on in the lives of others.
I don't even know him and I feel so sad he will never ride his skateboard on earth but flying in spirit on another earth one day that God will have for us.
I agree with you may that teen rest in peace in God's hands and if was still alive I bet he live xbox too wish I could meet this teen he and I could play some halo together and become good buddies my condolences to his family and friends
My best friend had an skating accident about 3 years ago. They thought he’d nerved recover. This was my biggest fear. But now he’s well and back to himself. Nothing but love for this family 💕
Dylan is a hero and will forever be remembered. His family must be so proud of him♥️ he saved at least 8 lives. I am praying for his family and community🙏🏼 they are all so beautiful and strong. This video is so touching and teaches the viewers a lot. God Bless you all, prayers for the family♥️🙏🏼 they are not alone in this!!
Most skaters dont wear helmets because it can throw off there balance when there skating but every one should wear one for safety purposes never know how your going to fall or where your going to hit...
@Andrea Marcano What is wrong with you? No one said it’s a magical shield, did they? Nor did they even imply it. So why would you say such a silly thing? Wearing a helmet can prevent some injuries, and reduce the severity of other injuries, isn’t that right, Andrea?
When I worked at the hospital I got to see this once, I heard the call and was confused, I asked a nurse next to me if it was a military personal that came back from deployment or something, she said no, she was in tears and took me down the hallway. So many people lined up, I read messages and signs that were on walls, I cried. It was a teen if I recall, one of those moments I'll never forget.
I showed this to my 15 year old son, who fought me tooth and nail over a helmet, saying it won't happen to me, he cried and said Mom I will always ware a Halmet. My point was made with no words. My son and I send our love and prayers to the family.
Thats beautiful. And definitely got the point across, it can happen to anyone, gotta keep our children safe. Good job, ill probably do something like that when my baby girl is big enough to do dangerous things.
I dont know how you men and woman in blue scrubs do it, day in and day out. Y'all are much stronger and braver than I ever could be at doing what you do. Thank you very much ❤️
The gift of organ donation is a gift of unselfish love, the ability of these parents to do that in their time of grief is amazing. I hope that one day you can hug the person that received yours sons lungs and be able to listen to him breathe again.
This hurt my heart, my condolences to the family. I can't imagine the pain that they are going through, at least he's in a better place and he has saved others lives.
"You NEVER really lose someone you love..... you leave a part of yourself behind and take a part of that person with you moving forward in life" I can't take credit for that quote but rest assured.....it pulled me through some terrible experiences in dealing with loss. My hope is that it may help some of you.....God Bless.
It's overwhelmingly sad but the thought of is organs saving another 8 lives makes this guy a hero, some might say a reluctant hero but is life was giving up to save 8 others...you are a Champion amongst Champions my friend.
0:33 that sign is what brought me to full send tears. "You're playing for the big leagues now !" Now he has a golden forged skateboard up there in Heaven !!! 😇🙏🏽
Rest in heaven boy, this also reminds me when I was lil my grandma died. Now I’m 15 I always get bullied cause I don’t have a grandma......hope I see u in heaven grandma........btw this is really sad 😭
Anny Kero not having a grandma is not a bad thing I wasn’t even born when my grandparents were alive so I never got to meet them but my mom died when I was only 15 I’m 16 now I’m turning 17 in 3 months so I can feel your pain so dont listen to those people because is not worth it
You have a Grandma. She is in a place where she can watch over you and take care of you in the greatest way possible. The ones who we love and who love us never really leave us. Your Grandma is part of who and what you are every day. You are LOVED! peace
No one should bully you for that! The world has really turned upside down if kids are being bullied for losing a grandparent. I'm so, so sorry sweetie. Keep being the bigger person and make your grandmother proud in all you do.
I believe you don’t need to know someone to feel empathy for their loved ones and how hard it must be to lose a close family member, especially at such young age. Had a tear in my eye 💓
Also, to everyone commenting, that has lost someone, I was reading so many of you all and each and every one of you touched my heart, I'm so sorry for your loss, but Thank You and Thank You to the family and friends and to the person who passed, you are our hero's. God Bless all of you. I know it doesn't ever get easy, but I hope that it kinda eases your pain, knowing they are hero's and they saved SO many people and that you will see them again in heaven, and that day is going to be so amazing. I have lost a lot of people in my life but what helps me alittle is knowing that day when I'll see them again is going to be Amazing and so magical.
Thank you Dylan Barrier for your gift of life! Thank you Dylan's family for the gift of love! I am deeply sorry for the loss of your beautiful child. Prayers for your family!
The greatest gift anyone can give is life. This young man gave eight people the ability to continue living. His life for eight lives. I can't imagine the heartache of his family and friends, but he's surely still living. Living through those eight people and living in each of his loved ones hearts. This hero will live for all eternity 💜 My heart goes to the family that ultimately had to make the decision to take him off life support. I know first hand the turmoil of pain and questions it brings. Prayers for all
If ever you're feeling like you're experiencing a bad time in your own life, it could be so much worse. Poor kid. Breaks my heart for him & his family and friends.
If something like this happens to me, I'll give one message to doctors, that, "Whoever you donate my organs, just tell them to enjoy their life for me"
I will say this time doesn’t heal a mother’s heart And sometimes the best things to say is nothing for words need not be spoken , for God is the only one to dry a mother’s tears and heal her heart.
Just came across this video today. Wow, in tears watching this. I live in Scotland and have never heard of "Code Hero" before. What an incredibly sad but courageous act for all concerned. My condolences and respect to Dylans friends and family.
God bless his family n friends. He is still alive in everyone's heart as he donated his organs. I am a donor and I wished everyone would think the same as save lives before we got. God bless
When I was in for covid in 2020, every couple of days there would be an announcement that all staff were to go to the atrium. They did this when a veteran passed. I was very moved (and glad I didn't pass!)
that was so emotionaly heart wrenching, i remember making the decision to pull the support on my wife. i sat there and held her hand as she passed. life has no meaning to me, but i have two boys that need taking care of , so i just keep swimming like dori
I'm a donor recipient. All I can say is Thank You to the person who saved me. RIP - you are with me every day, body and thoughts. You took care of me and I will take care of you.
I lost a very good friend of mine at school when I was just 15yrs old and he sadly lost his life playing football and he fell and hit his head and tragically lost his life. I know the true pain and immense heartache this will cause you all, I will pray for your amazing heroic son and for your family and friends at this time. Truly sorry for your loss.
It's the hardest decision to make taking your child off life support even an adult child because no matter what - he or she is still your baby. Kids don't understand this until they become parents. God bless Dylan's soul in heaven and thank you to the parents for donating Dylan's organs. You have saved 8 lives 🙏🏼🙌🏼💕 RIP DYLAN
This exact type of accident happened to my moms friends son. He tried to skate over a giant stairway and landed and hit his head on a boulder and passed away. I think he was only like 16 or 17. R.I.P to the both of them 🙏🙏

Thank you for giving the best in life that anyone could give. And you are angel and your child is an angel I’m crying so I hope I spelled words correctly
Honestly this broke my heart.....seeing this teen around the same age as me die and donates his life to people who need it makes me understand life more then I know to sacrifice your life no matter how old you are rest in peace man hope you are happy in the afterlife
