The shirt can be reduced or increased in size. If this is the second option, then you can add another fabric and combine.
Another interesting alteration - from a shirt you can make a full-fledged skirt for the summer; if you wish, you can add creative details. There are a huge number of styles, just experiment.
The most summery of them is an off-the-shoulder blouse or a flyaway, fashionable at all times. We changed so many of them in our youth. They were mainly sewn from chiffon scarves, which did not disappear during the era of shortages, but remained on store shelves. Shirt fabric is perfect for this product.
- Take a shirt and cut off the collar and sleeves. Usually in men's shirts the side seam in the armhole area widens. This protruding part is sutured. If there is a double stitch, you will have to undo it.
- We draw an oblique line from the armhole and cut off the excess fabric. Cut off the front and back straight. The armhole is approximately 10 cm deep. We make the front part 2 cm lower than the back.
- From the sleeves of the shirt we cut oblique strips to process the armhole. Attach the strip to the front side, then turn it over to the wrong side and sew a stitch.
- Now fitting. You need to put the shirt on yourself and see how much the fabric needs to be folded. I got 2 opposing folds.
- For the straps I took white jersey from a T-shirt.
- I stitched a 6 cm wide strip in such a way that there was a strap on one shoulder, and there would be ties on the other. We try on the length of the strap on ourselves.
A little imagination and a man's shirt turned into a woman's outfit for the hot summer.
