@@METALBIRB My cousin showed me this band when this album was brand new and we were both 13. Growing up with it is an understatement haha it may have been the first 'heavy' album I've ever heard.
This album is so iconic! This album is literally the reason why I like Deathcore! Was into post hardcore/emo before this in high school! I saw that my song lost by one vote in the poll! 😭 lol hope you can get For The Likes of You - Rot With Me on the channel!
METALBIRB got it! That album is so sick. Yeah, I think that would be a good starting point for him or something like Impending Doom. I feel like both have enough metalcore influence to bridge the gap. Sounds like it’s been growing on him though! (Chelsea Grin)
This is my all time favorite deathcore album from that era. It still holds up for me and I still jam it all the time. Just fun bouncy riffs and breakdowns for days. Seeing as he's from the EDM scene show him The Browning.
The double bass part at the end blew me away the first time. I think its 16th around 260 bpm. You never heard that stuff other than in extreme metal like nile or hate eternal. Funny story: The drummer who played this left and they couldn‘t find someone to play that part live. Saw them twice with the old and new drummer. I think the new one played that part half time or something, cant really remember. But to get to that speed takes years.

Love this album! Big nostalgia vibes. I def think you have to kinda grow up with it. And production is weaker but for the time it was great and holds up compared to other bands of the era. Def listen to black dahlia!
For a long time this was one of the only deathcore songs I liked before I was into the genre. I’m so glad you liked it. In dying days is definitely must listen also.
I love that track. Good times. And yeah, it's a product of it's time, but I don't think that's a bad thing. I think they are a prime example of good Deathcore.
Damn it... You guys should have reacted to the video... 360p quality, but you can still see the drummer freaking killing it... This was pretty much the introduction for deathcore for many of us... You might wanna check out their video vision, with their newest line-up, which was a little bit more metalcore oriented...

Jo, going old school. Nice! You should checkout Maroon - Stay Brutal or Maroon - Wake Up In Hell. It's also kind of old school german metalcore, cause the band unfortunately split up years ago. But it holds up today, I promise! :)
