For those who had a bit of a hard time understanding. The tragic tale he was referring to was the fact that for those who have the willpower to resist, Aura beheads them just to make sure they can’t. Thats how she got the nickname the Guillotine

This is going to be a theme in Frieren's fight against the demons. She always kill them using their own methods against them, serving a kind of brutal poetic justice, showcasing how much she hated the demons. She killed the inventor of Zoltraak with his own spell that he used to killed countless humans. She killed the demon in the dungeon by breaking and cutting his neck, the same way he tried to break her neck and cut it with wire. She turned Aura's own spell against her, and made her kill herself like how she did to the countless warriors that she had slain before.

When Frieren said "kys" i felt that. Pure cinema

This series didn't NEED to go THIS hard with animation. But... just look at Stark putting on his Jacket on ep 9. That was absurdly and needlessly clean. Also, every fight scene is absolute fire

When "fear brought me this far" and "zoltraak" hits in one Episode. Awesome.

I marathoned frieren this week and now I’ll watch every one of these that comes out 🙌

One cool thing I noticed in the flashbacks with Flamme, is that the people are dressed in Romanesque style clothes. This makes sense since it was literally a thousand years earlier. So fashion and architecture would be from a different era.

This series has the power to make you tear up out of nowhere and the next minute jumping in hype for something badass happening, its beautiful

Stark and Fern's growth here were nothing short of amazing ❤❤🙌

Some of my fav eps this series so far are the ones with Flamme. I didn't know if we were gonna get their backstory this season but I'm so glad we did in ep. 10 and it was awesome. I love the "just a feeling" rehashed by Himmel as well. You could tell that was the selling point to get Frieren on the team lol. Stark being a badass and just fully tanking a hit so he could get his lightning strike was awesome. I love that he says a warrior always looks like this lol with his hands wrapped and bloody. Fern never looked like she was in any danger either. Especially with her quick-draw.

What I love about this anime is it's world building, character development, and how it does all of this without the weird sexualization of stuff like in other animes that otherwise have peak world building and character development. Like Jobless Reincarnate for example.

Episode 9 is huge for character development for Fern and Stark, not to mention beautiful battle animation. Fern walking through Lugner's attacks before taking to the air is A+. Episode 9 should stand out as peak content...but then Episode 10 happens. I share the opinion of a lot of other viewers that Episode 10 is the best episode of Frieren to date. More than half the episode is flashbacks to her time with Flamme. It fleshes out Frieren's backstory. We see Himmel finding her and recruiting her for the quest to destroy the Demon King. All great inclusions. But the flashbacks _show_ us a very simple fact: Aura lost the battle with Frieren before it even started. A whole episode showing us that Frieren is OP before the climax. Telling Aura to kill herself is among the greatest flexes in anime, especially for the coldness of the moment. Frieren walks away without a second thought. She's _bored._ And to make Aura the Guillotine cut off her own head, with all the little details of cut hair and little rivulets of blood as she struggles to resist. And the music! Episode 9 is amazing. Episode 10 is a masterpiece.

This anime, in my opinion, is the best ever - story, animation, etc. On that note…@3:53 the animation of Stark putting his coat is ridiculously smooth lol

Each series is felt as a full -length film for a reason. The director of the project was very motivated by manga, so he collected very outstanding people, many of whom were just working on full -length animation films.

As someone who came in watching this anime because of the LowTierGod memes of the "Aura [redacted] yourself." Line, the delivery from the VA and the final camera angle just makes it all the better

Frieren pulled a Lelouch. Cold as hell moment!

Frieren despises demons so much, that she didn't even grant Aura the dignity of dying in battle, not even the minimal acknowledgement of destroying her with her magic. No. Once Aura is helpless, Frieren turns her back on her and simply orders her to die. That is how you write contempt.

I love how Frieren just turns around ("cool elves don't look at explosions") and walks away as she tells Aura to kill herself. Ice. Freakin'. Cold.

The english VA for Frieren does this line so much justice. I really think, in your own time, to check the dub for this. It's just as good as the sub.

Episode 10 was so good!

I think the reason that mages frown upon restricting your mana and don't expect it are for a few reasons: 1. Doing so is like deliberately downplaying your skill as a mage, which would naturally be rude to do amongst peers akin to a black belt pretending to be a white belt, or an expert deliberately withholding their expertise on a subject. 2. It's apparently difficult to do for long periods (at least without lots of practice) and can be detected if not done flawlessly, making it not worth it most of the time. 3. For demons specifically, their "culture" would think it as absurd as not wearing clothes, so it's probably just not something they'd think about often unless it's relevant to their abilities (like Aura).

I kinda like the demons but Frieren is still number #1 badass.

"How that was executed was beautiful." Very appropriate word, executed... Don't get me wrong, I've seen some pretty deadpan cold scenes, but the way Frieren just deadpan ordered aura to kill herself just about gave me frostbite.

A cool detail is how Aura felt very proud and honored of killing Frieren herself. Contrast this to Frieren who was so disgusted with Aura that she didn’t even want to do it and instead forces Aura to do it for her.

Flamme really be like, "You are being rescued. Please do not resist." Also, I feel like Flamme vs demons would've been more meaningful if she'd pretended to abandon Frieren, then sneaked behind the demons and ambushed them. Would've been a better demonstration of her combat philosophy.

I think Himel was stronger than Frieren, I hope one day we can see one fight between them.

Aura was NOTHING for Frieren to the point that she didn't even wanted to get her hands dirty by killing her, beasts that can imitate human speak, that's all they are.
