I believe if Loki was not in prison, he probably will be on his mom's side and Frigga might still be alive. As treacherous as Loki is, he knows he should be there beside his mom to hide from this attack as he's sometimes afraid and akward from battles unlike Thor who is known in general for being a warrior and a fighter in nature.

She went out fighting like a badass. She died quickly. She was mourned by her husband and her children. She saved billions by not giving the dark elf what he wanted. I can only hope for such a death
