It’s no wonder why Loki was so pissed Thor was made king. Loki was a lot more diplomatic while Thor ran into a fight that didn’t need to be fought out numbered without thinking and nearly got one of his friends killed and practically ignored it while Loki tried to avoid a conflict.
Thor: You must be Hela. I'm Thor, son of Odin. Hela: Really. You don't look like him. _Loki: Perhaps we can come to an arrangement._ *Hela: You... (nods) sound like him.*
Am I the only one that realized how much they nerfed Loki? Here he’s outsmarting ice giants and killed about a dozen, but in the show he struggles to beat a few humans
You're not the only one. It's like they forgot that not even Cap could take Loki on by himself and needed Iron Man's backup. They reduced him to a silly but clever magician so that they can hype up how strong Sylvi is. But meanwhile Loki took on Captain America and even put up a little bit of a fight against Thor. He even tanked a blast from the mind stone with no problems and even Thor's lightning.

@@dantemorales2493 he is a father whose child disobeyed him. It doesn’t matter how old someone is, when someone(whom is still living under their parent’s roof) deliberately disobey’s his/her father, then at that moment the son/daughter deserves to be put in their place. Thor deliberately disobeyed Odin, which re-ignited a war. At that moment, in Odin’s eyes, Thor wasn’t a grown man but a boy who disobeyed his father.
@@pamelaspain3251 I’m not saying Odin shouldn’t be mad at Thor, or that he shouldn’t lecture him, but Odin is trying to convince the Frost Giant that Thor is merely a boy and doesn’t understand his actions, that’s untrue and makes no sense
@@dantemorales2493 I agree, but I think Odin said that to diffuse the situation. Thor got his punishment being exiled to earth, to make him realize the error of his ways, so to speak. 😉
Always amazes me how much control Odin has with the Bifrost. When he uses it to go back, he made sure he only takes Thor, Loki and their friends and not any Frost Giant.
The movies imply that Odin has far more power than he displayed. In the comics, of course, Odin is tremendously strong, perhaps the strongest of all the mythological gods.
@@taken6177 Odin being a great dad banishing his own daughter lmao. Surely there must be other better ways to solve a problem rather than an immediate banishment yeah?
@@user-ev2gv9zk2t weaker than Thor? He can strip him off of his powers quite easily and you say he's weaker than Thor AND IronMan? Pass me the crack you're taking. That must be some good good shit.
Only person in Endgame he may be weaker than is Sorceres Supreme and Thanos with Infinity Gauntlet. They purposefully put sorceres in another universe otherwise endgame would be over way quicker. Another person that can be comparable to odin is Scarlett Witch. But Thor, Ironman is definitely weaker than Odin
When the Frost Giant king said that Odin was a murder and a thief he was right. Can't believe that has been 10 years since this movie came out. Edited: 10 years now since the first Avengers movie. Edited: Why the hell did they make Thor a laughing idiot in Love and Thunder? Edited: 10 years now since Thor : The dark world. Edited: 10 years now since Captain America:The Winter Soldier.
I love Odin's arrival. No wonder humans worshipped Asgardians. Even frost giants instantly stop and say "aw crap, it's _him"_ when they see that pillar of light.
Thor: Father, We'll Finish This Together!! *What he expected in his mind* Odin: YES MY SON! TOGETHER, ONCE AND FOR ALL!! Thor and Odin: AAAAAAAAH- *One Extinction later* Thor: WE HAVE VICTORY! Odin: I am proud of you, my son.
I still don't think we've seen the full extent of both Thor and Loki's powers, but this sequence is a good example of what they can do! From what I understand this action sequence is what inspired WB and Zack Snyder to do the undated Superman Reboot film: Man of Steel.
This movie came out in 2011 , Man of Steel came out in 2013....Just the VFX work alone takes a year or even more sometimes and they always do reshoots too , so I really doubt that they rewrote the fight scenes in the middle of shoting cause of this movie , the fights doesn't even look similar at all 🤷
@david kosiba Not true. 2 years is enough to steal Besides Mos Feels like A challenge to previous marvel movies. Like Oh A fight in a small town Yeah we can make it better A city is destroyed . Yeah we can blow it up Better with two dudes. Even the setting ms are similar
@@cringekiller348Are you serious? Smallville and Metropolis are two iconic locations from Superman. Of course, there would be a small town and a big city in the movie. Also, there's literally no similarity in the fights between Thor and Man of Steel. The Asgardians are slow as hell and only Thor can fly.
My take is that Odin did not want to re-ignite an ancient war all over again just because of Thor's impulsive & rash judgment. He was trying to maintain the peace between the realms.
Thor (2011) Laufey: “He’ll get what he came for. War and death.” Odin: “So be it.” Avengers (2012) Thor: “ Loki! Turn off the device or I’ll destroy it!” Loki: “You can’t! There is no stopping it! There is only the war!!!” Thor: So be it.”
The sheer power and authority you feel when Odin emerges from the Bifrost is undeniably my favorite entrance in the MCU. No wonder Thanos waited to invade Asgard until after Odin’s death. He could’ve soloed Thanos and his entire army!

Like, its mention that Odin expelled and imprisoned Hela before Thor was born, and Thor and Thanos have almost the same age so how does he know of Hela existence? Why would he fear Hela if he never knew she existed?, Odin maybe, but Hela? Nah, and Thor is worst, he got clapped 3 times, first on the asgardian Ship, second with the Stormbreaker and Mjolnir and the third time he lost even with Cap help against a weakened Thanos, and on top of that, the only time he beated Thanos was by using the only weapon that can counter the infinite stones.
Thanos started mobilizing and decided to take matters into his own hands years before Asgard was destroyed And remember that Odin was at full power when the dark elves invaded Asgard, defeated its army and killed his wife..Thanos is definitely more of a problem than the dark elves..Odin wouldnt have resisted much against Thanos

i just love how amazing Odin has been played by Anthony Hopkins just brilliant. And the way how Thor looks at Odin its like my 2 years old son looks at me basically like a God. I would have absolutely loved a movie just for ODIN the all father.
If a 1500 year old being craves bloodshed after being called a princess, there's something fundamentally wrong with him. Aren't you supposed to be super wise by now having learned from a millennia and a half worth of mistakes?
Doesn't work like that. My grand-mother has less restraint and maturity when it comes to 'violence'. Age doesn't always euqal to maturity in all aspects.
Kinda creepy that he rides his nephew. Seriously, Loki is the blood brother of Odin. He got impregnated by a Jotun's horse to distract it so the wall around Asgard wouldn't be completed, thus winning his bet. Then he gave birth to Sleipnir.
Seeing Ragnorok years later, I began to respect Hela more than Odin. Odin reminds me of our politicians. Fight wars one minute then suddenly, now I'm PC and kind..
I know Thor is this strong, but I wish they showed the frost giants as more than fodder. It would have been a lot cooler if it displayed them as an actual threat and made them look more threatening. Make it look more like they were killable but with much effort, AND THEN more shows up. You feel nothing, no sense of urgency or fear in this scene, it just shows a ton of bad guys at the end to show them being trapped. Even before Odin came, there was no sense of threat since they were just disintegrating with a touch from Thor. Imagine if they made the frost giants ACTUALLY threatening in this scene, would have been so much cooler. Just my take.
Yeah, it would make the frost giants threat of war a little more serious given that Thor could take them on by himself without too much trouble, let alone all the soldiers of Asguard.
Thor lost all its fantastical element after this movie. If they had vision they could've had Thor movies be on the scale of Star Wars or Lord Of The Rings movies.
@@h3xa817 How? Ragnarok is undeniably the best Thor movies and Infinity War is the best rendition of Thor we have ever seen. And there’s nothing wrong with comedy here, given how dull the first two movies were. Honestly Taika Waitit or James Gunn should’ve directed both the first two movies.
