This is one of those films that’s dated in a good way. It encapsulates the decade it was made in and actually has added charm because of it. It helps that the actual script and story still rock to this very day.
Absolute classic, watched it for the 100th time just yesterday.. and i realized i loved that song in the club.. and now i found it! Nostalgia hits this 50 years old movie addict!
I've watched this movie like a gazillion times over the years since it first came out back in the 80s, and how did I never know that Evelyn "Champagne" King sung this song???? Wow! Sheesh, you really do learn something new everyday.... even if you learned it waaaay later than everybody else. LOL.
Chris Saradon played Jerry Dandrige, the vampire, in Fright Night. He also voiced Jack Skellington in Nightmare Before Christmas and recently voiced Dracula is the latest iteration of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon.
I love 80's horror films and the music is f#ckng awesome. But then again the 80's just felt so good. If I could time travel it would be in the 80's with my daughters..
Best night club dance seduction scene ever. My second favorite vampire movie behind 30 Days of Night. The 2011 remake with Colin Farell was suprisingly well done, very entertaining and enjoyable and cool use of 3-D effects and all the more sad now that Anton Yelchin is gone, may he RIP poor soul, but the original is still the best.
I can't help but think that sometime between 1985 & 1999 something happened that changed the course of history. We ended up with what we've got today. There is another, alternative timeline somewhere in spacetime where the '80s lived on with modern tech and all is well.
When someone says there are no "perfect" movies out there, especially horror movies...I mention Fright Night. If not perfect (which i think it is), then it's definitely the closest thing to it.
😲.....Frank, if we ever cross paths, I hope you'll stay long enough for me to buy you a pitcher of lager to exchange our favorite quotes/scenes over... Is Fright Night a perfect film? Of course not! But to guys like you and I, we KNOW that it IS....
@Canon Mired Idiom I would gladly welcome that exchange! It's good to know there are others out there with similar feelings on this movie. (Basically, glad to know there are others out there who know their shit).
This movie came out the same year as: Back to the Future, Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure, The Goonies, The Stuff, And I’m sure many others I’m missing. I can’t even think of two movies that came out this year that I give a fuck about.
Amazing sound track. If you are a true fan, you will know that the version in the movie was changed slightly. When Dandridge turns to Amy (before he grabs Charlies punch), they played the high to low note piano roll which is meant to happen at exactly 2:19 into the song. The original has those attacking guitars and your just about hear the piano roll sequence in the background. What a movie in the best era.
Lourdes Oneals I am too, love this movie. Have the poster on my wall (",) along with all the 80's movies. Lost boys, big trouble in little china, terminator etc..princess bride ^_^
