This video shows how small frogs and other animals use the FrogLog to escape from swimming pools. The FrogLog provides an escape ramp for lizards, chipmunks, squirrels, mice, birds, bats, ducklings, and other small animals.
I have 3 frog logs in our pool. They really do work. we used to have 4 or 5 dead bunnies or chippys every summer. I got the frog logs about 4 years ago, and have not had a dead animal since I got them!! now I don't have to run check the pool first thing in the morning and last thing at night. (yes - I feel like a walking commercial!- but I'm really just a customer and a wildlife rehabber)
I do volunteer wildlife rescue and every time I get a call about a bat or other small animal stuck in a pool, I recommend the Frog Log, so future critters can get out on their own if the homeowner isn't around to assist.
This works 100%. Four years using two frog logs in a very large pool, and not a single floater, whereas before the frog logs, there used to be regular casualties (chipmunks, mice, small rabbits etc). You can use dive weights inside the weight pocket instead of sand for extra stability, or even just put a rock or small brick over the flat pocket. They're super durable too. I just do a thorough clean every fall, but there's never been a hole and it doesn't even seem to lose air. In four years, I've only had to add air twice. Highly recommended.
I just ordered 4 of these for my 18x36 pool. In an average summer my pool claims the lives of 20 mice and toads along with about 2-3 chipmonks. I am hoping that these work because I hate getting surprized by dead stuff in my skimmer basket.
I would say so..bc there is a lot of comments saying that theu do work:) A commenter above even said since installling 4 of them she hasn't had a dead animal since.:)
Will this work in an above ground pool? I want to purchase one, but not sure if it will be long enough. I found a dead frog in the skimmer the other day :/ want to do something to help.
Should do, they need a ledge/ramp to get up and out either way. Maybe the solution would rather be in the method they got into the above ground pool in the first place though?

I have to say, this is a really great invention you created. I absoulutely love frogs, but it is hard to save them all from my pool. My Dad and I usually check for trapped amphibians, and most of the time we save them. It would really help animals, too. I just recently purchased one, so I am very excited to help more animals! :)
Just got my frog log today it’s so cool and it’s not just frogs and ones seen in this video I’m saving so many bugs and rhino Beatles especially best 15 bucks I ever spent
Hi- Thanks for the great comment. If you get a chance could you send a photo of the rhino beetles or other insects on the FL as we don't have too many good insect photos. My email is rich@froglog.us. Thanks!
I just got one frog log not knowing qt.3 are needed for a 20x40 inground pool, wish the ad would have be more clearer!!! Maybe i should have purchase Direct from the Inventor Rich Mason after my long talk with him it was determine that i need three logs !!! and to place them 50 ft Linear feet apart starting at the left side of skimmer window, we are pulling out 50/30 Leopard frogs per day out of skimmer basket and 60% are dead sad to say so far we have pull out over 125 leopard frogs AND ONLY Leopard frogs why is this????? Pool pump runs all the time 24/7 at times i think there magneticly drawn to running water at the spa step end in 3 feet of water then there Party Begins! I'm planning on getting a Camera setup for daylight viewing i wish there was a night camera could answer the mystery that's at this pool site stay tune !!!
