It’s actually a load of rubbish and horrible to watch for us professional detailers. They are just sharks causing people to have to come back for full paint corrections as they don’t know how to detail a car to save their life 😂
I'd recommend you interview an actual car detailer, not just a bunch of kids washing cars. No offense but to call this detailing is an offense to actual detailers
Employee wipes from bottom up, uses broom on paint, uses same mitt on paint and wheels, no grit guard in bucket let alone a rinse bucket, places mitt on ground. This is why I wash my own whips and learn from Esoteric.
@@UpFlip you are 100% correct when you say that but not at the cost of the clients vehicle paint. There’s other ways to go around that without having to use something so aggressive which is displayed in this video multiple times.
Ok, I give him credit for being a very young risk taker and telling his story. As being a trained detailer, 😳 watching the crew cleaning the exterior on those cars
Any feedback would be highly appreciated, we have talked to our team about the things we have read in the comments and are making sure that they do not happen in the future:)
@@Bigsmobile The problem is this: given that the video was just average jobs being filmed it's being assumed that none of them actually know what they're doing. Truck brushes not being used on paint is common sense, not using a mitt on the body and tires is common sense, and I'm sure you've read the rest 100s of times. They are very clearly not trained, or the trainer may also not know what they're doing. This is basically an automated car wash people spend way too much money on.
This inspires me even more to keep going on my detailing business. I’m still 17. I have like my whole neighborhood know I’m the guy that can detail cars. I’ve done paint correction, ceramic coatings, everything u can think off. I started since I was 15. Man I love the progress of my detailing thru the years. I actually broke my phone when I was 14 and it was brand new and I told him I would wash his cars as a sorry and thank you, and then I got into detailing that now it’s my passion. Tho these guy aren’t professional detailers. They have a lot of flaws especially taking care of the paint to minimize scratches. Cant put a wash mitt and rinse in the damn ground. And can’t use the same rag for the paint and wheels. For me I throw away rags that fall in the ground. I’m ocd about it.
Keep up the awesome work and following your dreams Sebastian. Make sure to keep us updated on your business progress and may be one day we will see you on the UpFlip channel helping and inspiring others!
Yeah man this guy is definitely still a rookie. Using a broom on the paint just hurt so much. Hes definitely doing more harm than good in the long run. Hopefully his customers become more educated and use someone better
Hey bro I hope you're still doing this but if you've been doing it this long, I'd look into making moves with local advertising and then hiring a bit later on. With your experience and entrepreneurial mindset you can no doubt make this a serious business.
I agree. As a fellow Professional auto detailer I can’t believe I watch that kid use the wash mitt and wash the car then immediately go to the wheel. Also can we mention how he pressure washed the wash mitt on the ground! Like what? 😳😬

Is this for real? Washing that expensive car with a truck brush? Please don’t use the word detailing to describe this kind of service. It will absolutely destroy the paint of any car. For us car enthusiasts, watching this is like taking a kick in the nuts..
not gonna lie, as a car guy myself I felt weird, its like he's selling a course on how to do something instead of actually having done it himself. I know you're not suppose to use a brush to was paint or use the same wash mitt for the paint as the wheels. Just as a car guy myself that know a bit about detailing.
Don’t forget the cost of $349 for the standard package. Any other detailers would do the outside and inside for that much and most importantly not scratch up the paint
@@UpFlip I don't think anyone in the comments have ever heard of constructive criticism. Why be so rude when you can say the same thing and get your point across even better without laughing and speaking so negative? Crazy comment thread 4sho.
He does not use the two-bucket technique, he uses the same washing glove for the wheels and the paint, a large brush for the paint, I can imagine many swirls and stripes as a result of bad washing. But hey, there are clients for everything.
It would be awesome if we could do a business #short video on the 2 bucket technique. Thanks for the content idea Luis and for sharing great information.
I hate to be negative, but any decent car detailer would watch this and say most of his cleaning techniques are exactly what NOT to do. For example: -Using a brush on any paint(especially black paint, as it scratches easier) is never a good idea. On top of that, the guy was brushing from bottom to top, you are always suppose to clean and scrub from top to bottom, as there is usually less dirt to catch and scratch on the mitt as you work your way down. You don't want to catch rock chips while scrubbing the bottom, and moving your mitt to the top of the car and scratch it. -To the guy laying the mitt on the cement gravel to power wash it, you should never re use a mitt or clay bar once it has hit the ground until you put it through the washer. All the cement gravel will get caught up in that mitt. Just don't ever lay it on cement, leave it in the bucket. Easy. - The one guy was using a mitt to wash the outside of the tires after washing the paint right there, then going back to the paint.....that's terrible...it is common knowledge to wash wheels and tires first, then move to the cars paint(with different mitts etc) -The one guy was using a squeegee thing to get the water off the top of the black car. While they are good for getting water off windows, in the car detailing community they should not be used on paint, once you pick up a dirt or rock and swipe it down, it can create scratches. He has the money for equipment he should be using a leaf blower at the very least to dry the cars and use a microfiber or waffle weave towel to pat down and dry the cars to prevent more scratches. I can see maybe doing this on a cheap car, but those are expensive cars!!! -The guy that was waxing with the pad, I'm hoping he wasn't using a wax that might catch on the black trim, bc some waxes can turn black trim white and gray....it's best to be careful and not liberal when waxing with as pad manually. If I was this company's owner I would be embarrassed to have people see how my workers wash cars like this....hopefully he can improve on some of the miscues. All the best.
Respect u are spot on came for the comments I don't really watch detailing videos because.alot of guys all they do is explain how they do their work.everyone has different types of systems
Pay attention to what Matt is saying everyone. Amazing business insights right here. Thanks for sharing Matt. The goal of this channel is for everyone to grow and learn and with valuable information like this we can all do exactly that. Take care Matt and if you have a detailing business that would like an interview let us know!
Hi Matt, thank you for your feedback! The brush that can be seen in the video is made to wash paint with. It is a micro bristle brush that has a very low chance of scratching the paint. The squeegee that was being used to dry the paint is sprayed off with the pressure washer before being used to almost completely remove all the dirt to reduce the chance of scratches. As for the wash mitt, cleaning from bottom to top, and cleaning the wheels and car with the same mitt, those are all things that we will be going over as a team. We also have insurance in the case that something does happen to the paint so that we can repair any damages:) However, we are very proud of our team and the work they do. We have very good reviews and we are a very successful growing business that has been doing this for almost a decade:)
I am shocked from what I have seen. Spraying off the wash mitt while on the ground, using the same wash mitt for paint and wheels, washing from bottom to top, using a brush. This should not be considered detailing, more like mobile carwash service. Big difference.
Thank you for the feedback, we have a lot to work on and we have talked to our team about all the mistakes that people have pointed out in the comments so that we can prevent them from happening in the future. We want out customers to be happy so learning things like this helps us make that happen:)
I see a lot of things wrong that are very basic rules when detailing a car! Washing the car with a huge brush(even if it is a bristle soft brush you need to consider the technique you are using), using the same mitt for wheels and paint, washing the mitt on the GROUND! Man oh man.

This actually puts a hole in my head that he charged that client $340 to scratch the life out of their car and not even properly clean them, this has to be 🧢😭😭
Im not a fan of using a squeegee to dry the car...i also do not like a wash broom. I use a blower to dry the car and multi mf towel method folding it into so i have 8 sides to clean the car with. That way a dirty towel that touched the car never touches the car again ..by far its been the safest and fastest method i have used and gives great results....i also educate my customers so they know my quality compared to the other guys...it makes me stand out and has worked well for me
From 3:31-3:37…… using a brush to clean the paint on the car?……… yikes. My clients saw me doing that to their car it would be a loss the moment I even touch the tool From 7:19-7:20 ….. Uses a wash mitt to scrub across the front driver side fender and continues on the drive or front tires…. I will only assume that he took that wash mitt and went right back on the fender… yikes. From 9:43 - 9:46 ….. uses a wash mitt and goes across the quarter panel to the front side of the rear driver side tire and starts from the rocker panel and work his way up. If you know anything about a car getting dirty you should always either wash the wheels first and the rocker panel along the side or wash the lower section of the vehicle last saw you don’t mix contaminate what you picked up from the bottom which is the dirtiest part of the car and rub it against the cleanest part of the car which is the top part…… yikes From 10:33 - 10:36 ….. using a brush to wash the exterior of the Range Rover . Do we use brushes on the exterior of a vehicle? Yes but those brushes are to weed out tight crevices such as emblems and tight areas where the wash mitt because of its thickness or a microfiber towel, can I agitate the debris that’s trapped in it. To add to that is these brushes or soft brushes the type of material is completely different should I brush they are using on the Range Rover. From 12:48 - 12:50…. Look at the fender of the Mercedes Benz. The amount of holograms and light swirls instilled into it was because of poor wash technique and I’m not here to take away from his business because if he’s doing well then by all means…… but if there’s era I want to make sure out of my clear conscience that I’m able to educate anyone I see perform in those errors.

As someone who's been in the Detail business for 20+ years there is a difference between a car washer & a Detailer these are car washers and this is why the business has gone down people having people call themselves Detailers when they are car washers. Detailing is a skill you put a buffer or asked them to wet sand something the wouldn't have clue. Watching them even hold a shammy in their hands to dry the cars lets me know. But looking @ the cars I see he has a high end clientele so most of the cars he is doing are probably pretty cut & dry.
I have not seen them go mobile anywhere unless it's one location they're at , and I'm a mobile auto detailer I can say it's absolutely brutal to be out in scorching heat doing detailing just look at those kids they hire it's never ending revolving door
I mean, I get it, most people won't know the damage he's really doing to their paint. But dang dude, avoid being famous online if you're gonna be trash at detailing.
The goal is always to grow and improve so hopefully there are lots of learning lessons for all here. Thanks for the support and insights as always Bassahaulic.

Under a minute I already saw 2 big no-no's, 1. The big brush (unless it's super super soft and rinse it after each panel) then MAYBE, still wouldn't recommend it 2. Rinsing a wash mitt on the floor?????? What theeeeee
When I go to a new "detailer" I always stand and watch the work being done on someone's car. If I see ANYTHING close to what I just saw in this video, like the young man taking a wash mit to the paint, and then tires/wheels... I would get in my car, without saying a word, and leave. Now he could have used a different wash mit for paint, and another for tires... but we don't know... but I'd bet my last dollar, he didn't. If I were to go into the detailing business, I would take over!
I cringed when I saw the wash mit on the ground and brush they used on that black Range Rover. Yikes! At this point the customer is better off running it through the automatic wash near them.
I’m all for it that’s awesome. You’re great at business which is great and making that much is awesome congratulations! That being said I had to pause the video as soon as I saw that employee going ham on the paint with that truck brush though 😬 that and the wash mitt going from paint to tire. Nothing but respect. If I had his business skills and was making anything close to what he is, the number one thing I would still make sure is every single vehicle no matter if it’s a Mercedes or a Honda, is being detailed properly. Using that rv/truck brush on that black paint 😅 unless you’re doing a full correction after drying, this is probably just as bad as spending $3 to take it through a car wash. Not knocking that’s just my humble opinion and I am impressed by your business plan. I just had to say something after seeing those things in the same couple seconds.

Big respect but this was painful to watch. As a pro auto detailer who owns a great company in Raleigh, NC, the way he's teaching his employees to wash is entirely unprofessional. Hi Taylor, thank you for your feedback. We use materials on all of the cars we detail that make sure to not hurt the vehicles. A great example of something we use is the micro bristle brush that can be seen being used on the Range Rover. @@Bigsmobile my bro, steer away from that industrial truck brush. There’s extended wands with Chenille wash mitts, and the multi towel method which requires you to pick up a pre-Damped or soaked microfiber towel that has water and soap instilled into it, fold it in four ways and flip or re-fold to a clean side as you go around the car. This process can be done after you have initially rinsed and let the foam dwell on the vehicle. Use the foam as a lubrication to pass the wash mitt across the panel and be conscious of how much debris the towel is picking up so you can fold or flip to a clean side and continue the wash process.
