Yes, it totally makes sense! Polybags and other kinds of bags are so much more common I feel than carts here in India, for shopping. Everyone knows what a bag is, but some people have never used a shopping cart. Definitely a clever insight on Dukaan's part 🙂 -Caleb

Skill is the biggest asset and Suumit is the biggest example, he perfected his skills over a long period of time and when the time came DUKAAN happened to create an impact.

Glad you enjoyed the interview 🙂 this was actually filmed in December of 2020 (it took us a while to get it posted) - at the time, Dukaan didn't have a revenue model, the app was completely free to use, and Dukaan was financing their operations with investor money. Not sure if that has changed in the last four months though, I guess I'll find out whenever I go back and interview Suumit again! -Caleb
Working closely with Shopify, I can say that they are also moving to. Mobile, it's just that they aren't doing it in house but are partnered with multiple vendors for the same but what dukaan is doing is really great because having such quick and cost efficient DIY platform is really awesome! And yes sometimes language doesn't matter, look at gaming for an instance, people don't necessarily understand the language but they understand the logic/flow or they understand the "Mission" to be precise and that's what makes it intuitive. What's your say on that ?
Initially, I was surprised that Dukaan wasn't offering multi-language options on their app. But when he brought up the fact that WhatsApp does the same, it made me realise that yes, like you said, if the app is intuitive to use, then there's no need for multiple languages, because icons, smart UI choices, and universally understood English words are enough! An entrepreneur with less experience might not have realised this, but Suumit has a lot of experience under his belt, especially for someone of his age, and is a really clever guy! I wonder if Shopify will be successful with their mobile version. Something I have always felt is that services that were designed for desktop will almost never be as good on mobile. The business itself, the features, the entire company has been designed around a particular device, a screen size, a method of user control (mouse and keyboard), so when you try to bring your service over to mobile, the features and the business itself just don't fit the same way. -Caleb
his idea is not new many came and went but he manage to launch it in the right time during covid when customer and seller are not able to connect as normal. excellent example for hitting the right spot or right time.
Great story. This will be a unicorn soon. I feel localization is needed in the app for India. Just like MCd they need to change menu for India. We have so many languages. Letting sellers add in regional language will reach wider audience & penetration. 14:00 - Personal branding on dukaan. But he/she will be within dukaan platform. Can the seller take his domain outside of dukaan platform ? If he wishes. Including the theme ? Thank you.

Summit and Subhash are my ideals in my SEO career. Their number of case studies encourage and motive me for learning SEO and experiment with many things. I wish that 'Dukaan' would come in their neighboring country, Pakistan. There is a a lot of potential here too.
When you want other people to grow with awesome platform Dukaan, no body will stop you to become next Unicorn company. It was savage and at the same time idealist. Keep it up bro... and great work Celeb 🙂

Even Peter Thiel cofounder founder of paypal said the same, focus on product if you sove a problem building a useful product your startup will definitely flourish, never have an impression that you ll just start something for to make profit, you need to give first what value does your business provides and then you ll get paid for it.
loved it ... but one thing disagree with him is that he said "anyone can run paid ads"..if that was the case all the people running ads would have become a millionaire by now
