Hi Tim and Chrissy. Thanks for the Boracay videos. The update is appreciated. My first trip there was in 1985 and there where about three hotels back in those days. The Shang was not one of them unfortunately. I have a time share there and am planning a visit within the next 12 months. The transport issue you all faced to get to the main road has unfortunately been present for years. It’s about the hotels not stepping on the local tricycle operators. It’s understandable. That empty main road that took you up the hill from the Shang was, pre-Covid and pre Island shut down a picture of gridlock. That Part I am sure none of you will miss. Anyway, thanks for the on-site update!

Jesus Tim, the constant criticizing of the Philippines is getting tiresome. There is a pandemic going on, and people are doing their best to get it under control. I know it's frustrating but at least you get to travel. Yes, the western world may be more efficient, but suck it up buttercup! Don't take your frustration out on Chrissy, I can see she was tense and worried about your mood.....again. That being said I do enjoy watching your content.
Jesus Julie, I guess building a home for my in laws, paying for food to those less fortunate, showing the hardships put unnecessarily on businesses, overpaying everywhere I go, promoting stores for free, showing the great beauty of nature of the country, giving praise to an airport that is getting their act together and you are hung up on what again? You wouldn't know what suck it up means if it hit you in the face with a pan. Please unsub and watch some of the other goobers that are afraid to have an opinion, I'm not that guy.

For the same amount of money spent at Shangri-la Boracay, I would stay at a more modest hotel but stay longer like 2 to 3 weeks in Boracay which is a better deal. Like at the Boracay Ocean Club Beach Resort or The Apartments at Boracay Sandcastles. Or at the 7 Stones Boracay by Bulabog Beach. Hennan Regency Resort and Spa on Station 2 beach isn't a bad deal neither if you book into one of their better suites. The idea of a longer stay is better relaxation without rushing all the time. And you're basically in the center of the best location like near D'Mall, the shops, bars and restaurants just a stroll away instead of waiting so long like 45 mins to an hour for your complimentary ride to the Obama Restaurant or to the D'Mall area for shopping or a walk to a bank ATM. The Tides Hotel, Le Soleil de Boracay or The District Boracay are also wonderful choices. Lots things to see and do in those areas so your time is not wasted on holidays waiting around for what ? A 15,000 plus pesos a night waiting for a horse buggy? A stretch Hummer Limo with Mag Wheels? You were waiting around most of the time when Shangri-la Boracay was practically empty with only a few guests and no one catering to help you with your ride? All these employees sitting around doing nothing but chit chat with each other telling jokes. I would complain for sure. With that kind of money you're spending, I would not go back there ever again. Lousy service considering the price of accomodations they charge is definitely not worth it. You'll get better service at The Astoria, I bet. The staff there will cater to you all the time with a smile and treat you like the king of Siam.

Why fly Cebu to Tacloban to then drive to So. Leyte ... think I would have opted for the ferry to get a little closer to home. Cheaper too I would think.

i was born, raised, and lived in the USA, Illinois, for more than 50 plus years, and i guess i am not "WESTERNIZED" yet, since i do not know how to use an ATM, and i will never use an ATM, but more power to those who do know how and choose to use an ATM.
The water there was so gorgeous, I wanted to go there but my ex-wife was stuck up and did not want to go. Maybe some other time I can go. The Rules with Covid is crazy and varies from place to place. I also watch another ex pat channel up in Angles city. Get different views and he stress get out and explore the Philppines.. it is such a beautiful country. I am glad you are doing that with Crissy and all.. great memories. I cant wait to see videos of Crissy how she will react to So. Cal. :D
Funny, the sign says PAL but I thought the yellow neckerchief is worn by Cebu Pacific workers. What a contrast between Shangri-La and PAL. One gives you your money's worth while the other rips you off.
