cDLC requirement aside, this particular mod makes commanding AI in Arma 3 simple, effective and most importantly enjoyable. You can find SOG AI on the steam worksho here: steamcommunity.com/sharedfile... #Arma3 #Vietnam #sogpf #ai
Immediate download, thanks for highlighting this. Had no idea it existed and I'm overseas for work so will be going without wifi for awhile. Arma singleplayer can be so tedious to deal with when using vanilla commands. I've tried other AI command mods and none seem intuitive or add immersion like this one appears to. Cheers from Kyiv!
SOG AI has always given me lots of issues where the AI start running off, doing their own thing. I'll have to see if it's due to a mod conflict as everyone else always praises this mod.
Granted its not perfect but cant say I've had any glaring issues. The only mod ive come across which makes my squad do their own missions (lol) is Vcom, most of the time I have to disable its effects for the player squad.
have you tried Drongo's Command Enhancement? I found that along with the Go Go Go Move mode and Time Freeze menu mods, and adding Platoon Leader on top for high command, it really fleshes out the commanding experience
@@HazBofficial platoon commander or platoon leader? Commander is the one that allows you to add 4 squads to your command bar and the other is a high command replacement
@@Gofaw Apologies, chatting out of my arse lol. I meant platoon Leader. The one where you can order assaults by bounding overwatch, set CCP's etc. The convoy feature was especially handy during the campaign.
honestly i never had any issues with commanding vanilla AI (in any arma game) its good enough for me but stuff like the river crossing script sure do sound interesting
ahh yes, much the same. Operation Flashpoint PC Gamer Demo for me, fond memories of radio command button mashing on the enemies counter attack. I always made it out but never my squad 🤣
What scenario were you playing through out the video? If it’s Mike Force do you generally mess with the overall ai amount in the server parameters or no?
@@HazBofficialoh yeah i’ve heard of it. thank you very much. in ff2 do you get to use any armored vehicles or helicopters or are you always going in as a recon team?
@@mrfootfxtish9430 Your inserted as a recon/special forces team. However nothing stops you from commandeering enemy equipment and vehicles during the mission. I've got an upcoming video covering FF2 so got ya covered on that intel front 😉
Yes, the sogpf cDLC needs to be enabled for sogai to work. If you're hesitant on pulling the trigger just wait for a sale. However, it's a meaty dlc and I would be happy to pay the asking price. (IMHO of course)
Yes and no, it requires the SOG cDLC to function but has functionality for vanilla, other dlcs and even popular custom missions such as antistasi and forgotten few 2. It even has its claws into stuff like webknights melee mod.
I don't use reshade. The only graphics or lighting mods I have used in the past are recolour and real lighting and weather but none of these were used in either video you have commented on.
memorizing some number combos is much faster an convenient than popping up a screen blocking selection wheel. i'll never not hate console players for spreading this plague further. keep the goddamn UI clean.
Babbleboom, the custom commands can also be used via the vanilla radio system so if you're willing to memorize then it has you covered. Better yet, use voice attack and never worry about a unclean UI ....OR firing them precious neurons to retrieve radio command combinations.
I would like the SOG (which I do not play) because it makes the veterans look like whining babies and yelling out loud in pain during a stealth mission. I do not play it because of all the unnecessary yelling, whining, complaining, ruins the gameplay! If soldiers yelled out like that in a combat situation, it would not be good for that soldier. We were taught discipline not to be school kids in the playground! Take it From a Vietnam Era veteran! I am 67 YO Is there a way to remove this awful chatter? If so, I could play it!
I also found the ambient yelling of SOG Prairie Fire mod to be super annoying. So in the SOG AI mod I have turned the ambient yelling off. You can put your AI squad in Stealth mode, and they will be quiet and commanded by hand signals only. In combat, they only do normal ARMA combat shouting (and they do NOT do the Prairie Fire SOG shouting). So I think I have solved this problem with my mod.
