From Church of the Nazarene Pastor to Catholic - Ben's Conversion Story

Over the summer I had the chance to sit down with Ben from ‪@thenazarenecatholic‬ to hear his Catholic conversion story in person! Ben was an ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene denomination before becoming Catholic this year at Easter. I was so blessed and encouraged to hear his story and I am sure you will enjoy it as well. Ben has his own RU-vid channel where he shares more about his experience, so please be sure to go over to his channel and subscribe.
Please note that there is some background noise in this video and that the overall sound quality could be better. We met in a library meeting room that was not as quiet as I expected, and I didn't have the most ideal audio setup. I had delayed posting this sooner in order to figure out how to edit out the background noise, but I've decided it's better to go ahead and upload instead of waiting any longer! There are a few times that you'll hear someone else clear their throat, but you should be able to understand the entirety of the video. When you started praying the Rosary, you were done in. When Mother Mary comes in, she will surely lead you to a deeper relationship with her Son through His Church.

This is for Ben who is so in love with Jesus in the Eucharist! Here’s a prayer I jotted down from RU-vid from a former Lutheran who was giving his testimony at Medjugorje in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and ever since I have been saying it: This person had been suffering from multiple sclerosis for many years and so a Priest handed him a prayer to be said after receiving Communion, he did , and the very next day he was healed, he got out of his wheelchair and walked. I have been saying this prayer ever since. ”Let your precious body and blood mix with mine and travel through my body, healing me of all my fears and all my sicknesses and fill me with your peace. Let your precious body and blood mix with mine and flow throughout my being, make me into what you would want me to be that I might love like you.” John 6:56 Jesus says “Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him". That sense of Joy, which is hard to describe, is so very true. The Eucharist works in a quiet way, a secret way, a way that works deep inside. As a convert of 20 years, i feel a pull toward the Eucharist even today. It's so hard to describe to people who have never experienced it. Thank you for your story and the continued channel.

That is so beautifully said. I agree, probably my greatest desire for my non Catholic friends and family is that they could experience the grace and joy of receiving the Eucharist.

I love to talk about Catholic issues, I think where I need to grow is seeing the opportune times to broach the subject, when to give a surprisingly Catholic answer to a question, and so on.

Please, don't be embarrassed about the background noise. It adds to the charm and authenticity of real-life stories. "...and they overcame him [the Dragon] by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony and by not loving their lives even unto death..." Nothing in there about sound quality 😂

I always want to create the best possible presentation, but yes, that's true-it's ultimately about the simple testimony of how God has worked in someone's life.

There’s a lot of misunderstanding by Protestants about the Catholic Church. When they do that, they are really hurting Jesus, His Jewishness and the origination from Jesus’ Apostles and Martyrs.
