In my opinion, I loved that MRCH went with the old twice songs. Twice have been experimenting with their music the past comebacks and talk that talk brought up that familiarity of who they were before with a touch of who they are now. It was refreshing and nostalgic at the same time. It was a perfect way for newer fans to get to know twice in that type of genre and sound. BC of that, older fans may have a discourse of how "twice" it sounds, and newer fans get to learn from the others that there are older songs of twice that sound like that. Hence, getting to know the artist more and so on so on :>
I was like 'who this?' then see she wrote Twice - Talk that Talk | Celebrate, woo!ah! - Catch the Stars | Rollercoaster, and NiziU - Poppin' Shakin' All of them are on my playlist and end in the top 20 of their year, usually high on it haha
How is it possible for a person to be so cute 😭I really enjoyed hearing MRCH talk about her music and her journey. Great job, MRCH and Umu for connecting us all together ❤
11:56 tbh i was glad talk that talk sound so 'twice' bcos theyve been trying out different stuff during 2020-2021 ranging from disco to deep house so it was refreshing to see them going back to their roots
Just want to shout out your interviewing skills, Umu! Your questions are so interesting, keep the interviewee engaged, and make for such a fun watching experience.
This whole interview is super cool!!! I’m so glad to hear about her journey and thoughts behind the process. About her regrets for talk that talk, I really loved the “twice” energy as a fan. It felt very comforting hearing a fresh new song with the same heart of their older work. Thank you so much to MRCH for your work and for taking the time for this interview!
Being a ONCE it was so good to watch this interview having known of MRCH for quite a while now, with her remarkable songs and also her work with Woomin. Exceptional voice and amazing creativity and compositions. Some of my favourites are: ▪Dawn Flight (with Yeomi).. amazing song!! ▪Lullaby (with Moneto.. ) - this begins like one of The Sundays songs. Remarkable... and dedicated to the memory of Woomin's brother. ▪Aim for Love ▪Love is a Magic ▪Classic ▪MRCH Mood Superb interview Umu.. grateful you asked if certain lines were written for specific members as that came into my head as the interview progressed. It was fantsstic when she said it had been the best interview she'd ever had.. made me proud for you, so im sure you were amazed! You continue to carry out undoubtedly the best KPOP Reactor interviews in media.
Wow, she's so talented and charismatic! Loved getting to know MRCH and her experience with songwriting and composition. As well as her work as an artist too! I didn't know her, but I will absolutely give her album a listen. Beautiful views on positivity, so grounded and optimistic (the tree analogy hehe
Love the mix of content on ReacttotheK. I'm one of those musicans (french horn) you merntioned whose college music degree absolutely destroyed my joy for music. It's channels like this and KPop (especiually Mamamoo) that have helped bring back the joy!
noooo, she was so happy that you knew her songs and talked in detail about your favourite parts and showed that you dissected them. i think im going to cry. her smile???? getting to know more about her has me really looking forward to her new projects. thank you for this interview. it was amazing
Whoa it's so interesting putting a face to the songs and she is literally her songs personified! The start of the chorus for Talk that Talk and Rollercoaster do actually give me very similar vibes now that I think about it as well as the prechorus for Poppin Shakin and Catch the Stars. I also really like how the punctuated shouted parts in the songs she's had a part in making fit into the final song. I hope you will be able to beat dolphins MRCH!
Seeing her growth since ICSYV is amazing. The songs she made for other artists are great and her own songs are also amazing. Glad to know even more about her through this interview. Wishing her all the best for her growing career.
Umu you killed this interview! Love seeing this kind of content on the channel along with your reactions :) hope you can talk to more composers/songwriters like this! Gonna follow MRCH now - haven’t heard of her before but loved “meeting” her in this interview. (Ps she’s right - you’re one of the best interviewers I’ve seen). Thanks for a great vid!
omg i love this! talk that talk was one of my favourite songs from last year, and the two of you have such a great rapport - the energy made it cute and fun to watch. I really enjoy these type of videos too - i think you grown so much as an interviewer Umu and excited for more to come!!! will defo check out more of mrch solo music.
Love the shoutout for Modern Love! It’s such a lovely and heartwarming show! It’s based on stories submitted to the Modern Love column on the New York Times, and they’re such interesting stories to follow along 😊
I love Talk that talk and Celebrate so much, It really has that vibe that i love from Twice, coming from a fan that loves cute concepts and adores Twice thank you so much 💜👑
omg lovvveddddd roller coasters and popping shaking and of course celebrate all those songs are my fav songs from fav groups I didn’t know you’re the writer now I’ll have you as my fav writer
High School musical is one of the most under discussed sonic inputs in Kpop. Sounds insane but SHINee's Juliette (arguably a top 5 song of theirs) is actually a remake of a Corbin Bleu song. HAAAA. A lot of pop producers were definitely heavy in HSM, cause who wasn't?
i hope my queen is having a lovely 2023--talk that talk, catch the stars and celebrate are litrally my faves!! it's kinda sad that she feels a bit of regret that they went with something that reminds everyone of older twice but talk that talk is just very refreshing yet not alienating as a long time once and i feel like it's a good step in their evolution as artists esp with such an amazing discography beforehand
i love how her songs seems to reflect her personality so much ^_^ like sweet and bubbly and all. looking at her discography, im surprised to see that she might be my top song writer for her genre 😍
I love this so much!!! MRCH is amazing and her album really helped me through a rough start of the year, thank you so much for this, Umu, you really are the best interviewer! MRCH Mood is also my favorite song and I really have to thank you for making me discover it!!
As soon as I saw that MRCH wrote Woo!ah! Catch the Stars, I knew I couldn't click away from the video. Catch the Stars is one of my all-time favorite kpop songs!!!! Sadly wooah isn't a very well known group... :(
Thank you so much for putting this out! I learned so much and can’t wait to listen to more MRCH! Seriously so talented and Talk that Talk is such a masterpiece!
She looks eerily similar to the Yonsei student who performed BoA in Wanna One’s ep of ICSYV. On another note, thanks for some of my recent fav songs! And thanks for writing for the ultimate favorite group! ❤
Thank you for writing one of my favorite songs of last year, MRCH! I had it on repeat nonstop when it came out. "Tell me what you want, tell me what you need" is also my favorite part, it hits on something super nostalgic for some reason.
I really enjoyed this new concept for your channel. I have been watching since 2018 and always enjoyed the more detailed analysis of the music. Hopefully this is something you could do three or four times a year for a couple of years. I am sure it took a lot of work on your part. Great job Umu.
This was really great! I've seen a lot of interviews but this makes so much sense to have a music person interviewed BY a music person, feel like Umu was really able to get some great answers. And MRCH is so nice and cute and I loved finding out about her process : )
A month ago I watched MRCH's cover song Viva La Vida (loved her energy with that song, the hand written lyrics is so cute, and of course, her beautiful smile is priceless!), then I started following her channel. At start, I thought she is just one of those RU-vidrs covering old songs (she looks like a college student with a Macbook all the time, lol), but now I realize she is a well-experienced singer-songwriter. It is a great interview and good to know MRCH more!
Wow, I didn't know reacttothek have this kind of section. I hope they will interview more producers or people who work with the artist behind the scene. Enjoy this interview a lot ❤
I'm glad you enjoyed!! ❤️ We started interviewing producers in 2019! Here's a playlist with all our interviews so far: ru-vid.com/group/PLFw_XZtkCVMOo1FUYhm_-KcKclQytfh7y
Oh what! She studied in the Philippines! Nice! I became a fan of her ever since I saw her in "I Can See Your Voice". Talk that is definitely a bop! Easily my favourite Twice song!
Pleasee please react to her music/singing! I've been listening for a long time and I've been waiting for so long for her to get more exposure! I especially like her work with moneto/collapsedone in the lullaby album. Besides that, Still romantic is amazing as well, not to mention her recent work.
Everyone keeps saying she should of been a Kpop Idol star but she much more than that .... She's basically a K-Indie... In Korea when little kids to young teens grow out of Kpop they all gravitate towards K-Indie Music....even Idols listen to K-Indie , hardly any listen to Kpop behind the scenes , in public they have to pretend to like Kpop music
SHe wrote few songs but I love them all ?? Catch The Star aka sounds like a Lona song so of course I will love it. Rollercoaster aka synthpop masterpiece, and then TALK THAT TALK AND CELEBRATE ? woah
