Switching from an Airstream to this van has honestly been a breeze. The plumbing, electricity, appliances, and features are insanely simple and there was barely any learning curve. If you'd like to see a video where I compare and contrast the two, let me know in the comments below!
Side note about the AC: The watts it draws depends on how hot it is outside. When it's in the 90's outside, it draws about 700 watts. It was about 75 degrees outside when I filmed this video.

Hey Sarah. Congratulations on your new home! It looks really cool. I wanted to let you know something about Rooh that might be helpful. I’m a professional dog walker and I was watching her reaction to the new “crate“ and where she was laying on the floor… She’s a big dog and I kind of think (please don’t burn the messenger here) that her living space might be a bit on the small side for her and that’s why she’s having a difficult time adjusting. She’s probably laying in the hallway because there’s slightly more room for her. She might be spending more time on your bed; once she adjusts she’ll probably be OK. Been loving watching all of your videos and your transition from the airstream to the van. Totally thinking about going tiny but don’t think I could survive in a van lol...Best of luck with your new life! PS the digging? It’s a dog thing. They all "burrow". It’s a comfort thing for them. 😊

I gave up making my old labrador's basket 'comfy' with layers of blankets as he generally pushed 1 or 2 of them out with his nose while he burrowed (and huffed his disapproval at me!!)😂

I feel like coming across your channel was a God send! When I first heard of van life, all I saw were self-converted vans and felt that couldn't be a reality for me since I don't have the skills to do it myself. Now that I've seen your van and the fact that Drifter Vans now offers financing through a credit union, I have hope that I can do van life when the time is right for me. We had same issue with our heater. What worked for us was not having it set so high. At 120 we kept getting error code. Set at 114 works perfectly. Give it a try. 🤞

Your van turned out absolutely amazing! It is so beautiful. I get the adjustment to a smaller space for sure. I have a mid roof adventure van custom build, and I definitely wish i had a bit more room. I use supplemental oxygen and I definitely know how I’d do my next build differently to accommodate that better. We only travel in it for vacation but still, comfort is Queen. it’s me an my two Havanese pups Ziggy and Stardust, and we love it so much despite of some challenges. Pulling up to random scenic spot is priceless. We just toured northern Michigan, gorgeous. Best of luck and have a ton of fun! Nothing like a nimble van for sure ! 💙💙💙

Can you share what and where did you get the front seat cover for your dog. I have a F350 with bucket seats. Right now my 78lb Golden Retriever uses my total back seat with an undersized seat cover. “I need to protect my leather seats😉

I think Drifter vans are very nice, they stage their interiors beautifully. Being a Michigander we considered it but just not enough storage/room for my comfort level. It’s great for a single person like yourself though and not having to hitch up and tow is definitely the plus side of van life. I’m looking forward to seeing how you manage the little space and how you organize it.
