Lived there 60 years. It's pretty nice. It does have a down side. Crime continues to be a problem I'm told, but perhaps it's less frequent than it used to be. I live in Santa Barbara now.
If you've lived there all your life can you tell us when you feel the neighborhood started to really go downhill would you say it was in the late 60s early 70s ? Are you there now ? What do you think of the gentrification going on there ? Sometimes yuppies can also ruin a place by sucking the magic out of it ... and bringing in their snotty attitude .
