I've had many investments increase 10x and let me tell you it is almost impossible to hold that. Do you have any idea how hard it must have been to hold from 1000 down to 150. This kid really is a true believer and programmer who understands the tech.

Yea try having 100k go to 10k. Try putting 1k in and not selling at 50k or even juat 5k. I think it just proves that while college is useful for the average person, there's often a whole other area to explore where the success and wealth is. Wealth that can be acquired without a formal college education. I don't understand why people keep pointing out how articulate the guy is either. I'm 18 and haven't gone to university yet and I firmly believe that it won't improve my written or spoken language in any way, shape or form. In my point of view, college just helps you learn more about the career path you're interested in more than anything, ergo if this guy is already a millionaire, be it due to luck or his knowledge about the financial and economic system while he was 12, then he doesn't really need a job, hence making college completely useless. Unless he wants to learn and study business, in which case I think it'd be a wise choice as he'd learn even more about how to invest his money after he cashes out of BTC.

The school system won't get you rich, doing your own thing with success gets you rich. School dropouts start out working on their life very early while the average guy goes school college university then needs to quickly find a job because he's become an adult and needs to have a car house and wife and he feels there's no time to try new things and take risks to see if success comes out of those risks because thats a long process.

I know right? Every time I go to sell a crypto, be it BTC, BCH, ETH, IOTA, ETN etc. I always think in the back of my mind "Yes, I could sell it now for a profit, but that profit would mean nothing if the coin is up 500% in half a year."

Jason Gallant for your info, Bitcoin is at $3500 and he had spent some of his coins for his living expenses. He more likely have about 1.2 million and not the 2.4 you mentioned.

Just look at the stock to flow model and the historic annualized return. Bitcoin has been doing an average of 200% annual return for the last 13 years. In comparison, stocks, gold, and real estate have been averaging 10%. They weren't kidding when they said Bitcoin is the best performing asset.

I think it dropped again to $57,000. No apparent reason, just inertia. Make believe money. Good luck with that.

@@redrust3 Ignore short term volatility. Pay more attention to YTD return. As of this moment BTC is up 201% despite volatility. That means if you had dollar cost averaged since the beginning of this year, you would've doubled your investment. Assuming Bitcoin does another 200% next year then your initial investment would compound year after year. I would recommend listening to Michael Saylor explain why bitcoin is the apex asset.

Joep That’s True. I suspect this time may be different. Or eventually it will be. The other collapses were based on hacks on brokers and not on the fundamental problems with BlockChain. When that crash comes there is no fix. I suppose only time will tell
