I love this story and can relate very well. When I was young and still struggling with my identity, I met and befriended a few successful gay men who mentored me during my coming out process. I am forever grateful to them for that support. I also realized that so many other young men aren't always lucky enough to have that support network, so I myself took on that role. I am now almost 50 and can say that I am very proud of and happy for the young men that I was lucky enough to mentor. Twenty years on, I can count these young men as my best friends.
