They're fae from Irish folklore. The movie "The Watchers" explains them VERY well. Almost as if they got inspiration from the same source. The Wendigo connection does make sense since the monsters are targeting their food source until the only food source left is other humans. It looks like they may be combining the two myths.
@@wayofthekodiak3118 Kristi also says something along the lines of "it's human, or it used to be". The monsters just being a new creature with inspiration from both myths makes sense. In the trailer Jade sees someone slurping from a skull (so it could be past or present). Could be a key moment in uncovering where they come from.
Can be ruled out though. As an origin or where they came from it's possible. Plus the show highlights bodies being ripped apart and insides missing, if they aren't eating them, where are they taking the organs?
Definitely agree. This is some sort of cycle involving a curse. Heard something earlier about the creatures coming out at night because this is when an escape, perhaps a portal of some sorts, is visable/reachable ???
@@Q-Dads For the Humans.. one of a few theories that are out there regarding escape. I haven’t seen anything to indicate this could be true other than it being a random theory based on speculation because the monsters only come out of night.
Nah, I still think all the creatures are subsets of fae. Some are "good" or at least neutral, some are pure evil. The good are part of the "Seelie Court " that are associated with summer and spring. The others are part of the "Unseelie Court" associated with fall and winter. That's why when Boyd had his little adventure in the dungeon the seasons started to change for the first time. He did something to tip she scales in the Unseelie Courts favor. Fae are also know to be tricksters, shapeshift, abduct people with a special interest in children, have pocket dimension that people can wander into (like fairy rings). On top of all of that go look up what the meaning of the word fae or I could just save you the time ( "Fae" is a Scottish preposition that means "from").
@@purpleguy6837 Oh and I forgot. There are also stories about them entrancing people with music. So even the music box spreading a curse fits. I think the kimono lady is part of the Seelie Court and she wasn't trying to drown Elgin in season 2. She pushed him under water because he started to hear the music box. What happens to your hearing when you are under water? It becomes muted and distorted. She was stopping the music's "spell" from hurting him.
US and pre US history will be relevant IMO. Mainly Westward expansion, Natives, Civil War, origin of the Tailsmans (maybe some vikings and phoenicians got lost and settled there with the natives), maybe even the French/Spanish. I bring up the Vikings and phonecians becase the talismans have runes/symbols from both. Magic folk from both backrounds could have combined forces with the Natives fighting evil together. That's my fan theory at least.
@@jhipoulter775 Just looked that up and I have to disagree. Those are more like revenants. These creatures are changelings like the fae or skin walkers.
@@wayofthekodiak3118 transformation is seal with human like eyes. Corpse like. Long needle like fingers. And the creatures do shape shift. While in the full mythology there is tales of bulls etc but just the base mythology. I admit that’s the one point that’s about off but the rest like where they sleep weather sun etc pretty much matches up. I’m glad you disagree because I’ll be thinking about your Fae opinion and my dragur opinion when it’s all said and done 😁
Ok A few details you are missing They have no organs, their insides are decayed and decrepit The wires inside the town lead to The underground caves but connect to no out put for power Tabitha was pushed out of the lighthouse and woke up in what appeared to be a hospital If the writers are good writers You are, I am sorry to say, wrong💯
Think more Westworld and less Guillermo Del Turro The monsters don’t actually exist, they aren’t actually real Not in the same sense the audience has been made to believe
Hey you're not wrong there's some fairy theory that has a whole bunch of supernatural being playing some type of hunger game with human beings.. I think every season is going to show some type of different demonic creature that we going to have to deal with and the TV show
They are composite creatures with details drawn from vampires, sluagh, and, sure, maybe wendigos. I don't think they are intended to exactly be any one thing. Rather, they are intended to be the inspiration behind a bunch of monsters, while not precisely being any of them. In other words, they are unique, despite being an inspiration composite.
Yeah, the town does tend to run in fears so could be a collection of creatures mixed to form the perfect version but you can't disagree with the resemblance!
I think the creatures have to be former humans because they’re all dressed from different time periods like they were created from different times of falling into the vortex. I’m curious to see when one of the characters is going to get turned into one of them.
It's kind of annoying that everything in this show takes part on Indigenous land, but they haven't seem to have included a single Native actor (and I don't just mean as a token character) and now the only character who might have some actual connection is a Native flesh eating monster. Yup, sounds about right. I still love the show for what it is though. It would suck it was just another woke cast so I'll get over it.
Look up the native america cuse of the ute in grand valley ... they cursed the settlers to never be able to leave the land and have to make special bottles to be able to leave !!
Took you 3 seasons to come up with this....lol... Doesn't matter what the monsters are.. this show will be cancelled.. this will be the last season... And we still wont know whats going on ..lol
Stop using misleading titles. You say theories and what you "think" they are. Their origin has not been revealed as your title states. I swear people use false titles just for clicks...
