@@philipjohn1338 some think even in life we have no choice, as only a simulation can be conscious , is free will and illusion in a universe of causality for molecular machines?
@@philipjohn1338well most of us make the choice when we are alive and mentally sound. Or we can grant someone medical power of attorney to later make the choice for us.
I'm glad you pointed out where the stomach is because when people hold on to their abdomen they don't know they have a gut issue, they keep blaming their stomach
More liquid meals can be greatly beneficial to a certain type of people. I’ve found that for me my morning of liquid vitamins, water/tea, and a protein shake are sufficient until late lunch (3pm) then a light dinner at 5/6pm.
On protein requirements, I’d like to see a deep dive on the difference between the requirement for muscle maintenance versus during a period of active synthesis during a building phase. I rarely see this specific aspect focused on in the usual videos on protein intake.
Definitely want more digestion videos, this is great. Especially want more detailed explanation of what goes on in the intestinal cells, stomach lining, etc. how long different things take to absorb, how long different foods spend in the stomach and why, etc.
I am SUPER happy that you made this video and talked about if amino acids are earmarked for specific tissue and mentioning THE collagen. Thanks, it will help for my teaching classes.
Love the channel mate! I never ask these things but could you please do a video on Proton Pump Inhibitors and how acid affects nutrient absorption!?! I think a lot of other people will appreciate as it’s one of the most common prescriptions. I would be forever grateful!
Great Video! Below are the Keypoints Suammrized using ChatWithPDF: 🧠 - The digestive system plays a crucial role in breaking down protein and absorbing it into the bloodstream for distribution to muscles. 🍽 - Different segments of the digestive tract are primarily responsible for either digestion or absorption of protein. 👅 - Digestion begins in the oral cavity through mechanical and chemical processes such as chewing and enzyme release. 🍗 - Protein-rich foods like chicken or steak undergo mechanical digestion in the mouth before moving to the stomach for further breakdown. 🧪 - The stomach plays a key role in digesting proteins through the action of hydrochloric acid and enzymes like pepsin. 🔁 - The pyloric sphincter regulates the movement of food from the stomach to the small intestine based on food type and amount. 🧬 - The small intestine is the main area for absorption of nutrients, including amino acids derived from digested proteins. 🩸 - Amino acids absorbed in the small intestine are transported to the liver for utilization in various bodily functions, including muscle growth. 💪 - The body dictates where ingested proteins are distributed, emphasizing the importance of consuming enough protein for muscle growth. 🥩 - Animal proteins like whey and casein are complete proteins, while plant proteins may lack certain essential amino acids. 🕰 - While timing of protein ingestion can be important for muscle recovery, overall protein intake throughout the day is more crucial for optimal muscle growth.
You sir are an absolute rock God the way you communicate complex concepts in a easy to understand fun way has the education of body mechanics an absolute delight for me . Perhaps I'm being just a little over the top but thankyou for your contribution to society on the fascinating complex machine that we are . So much respect to you my friend 👍
Perfect timing. I was just watching your short about testicular torsion and I was thinking about my family member who had one. Now this is something he'll be happy to watch, I'm sure.
I used to think that Americans don't care about baldness but after watching this helmet my thoughts are totally wrong 😂 watching from India.Love you sir ❤❤❤❤
Amino acids are the very first thing I suggest to newbies when asked how I’ve been able to build muscle. That said it’s important to know that emerging science is suggesting that amino acids can also fuel the growth of cancer. Though it’s a complex subject it would be really interesting to hear the IOHA’s take on which aminos to use and which ones to avoid for people who have cancer. ❤️💪🏼😎👍🏼❤️
This is just a fantastic video. Super interesting and educational. The use of cadavers really helps to tell the full story. Thanks again for the high quality videos.
What is meant by human intelligence ? What is true human intelligence ? What is an example of human intelligence ? What are the four types of human intelligence ?
15:00 Thing to note is that nowadays, most plant protein powders are a blend of brown rice and pea protein or hemp etc... Which makes a complete protein because one makes up for the lack of the other
I'd love to see a deep dive on digestion in reference to insulin dependent diabetics and how insulin injections change the rate of digestion. I've heard all the myths you can think of but hardly any real evidence on the topic of exercise related to diabetics.
Collagen, an animal protein source is the only one which is totally lacking an essential amino acid. All plants have all essential amino acids, the ratios are different but plant sources are all complete
I think a very interesting video would be examining how common contaminants and “cuts” in street drugs can impact health, even teachers and police seem to forget to mention it
As Vegan it's confirms what I know about breaking down proteins to single amino acids and mixing them during 24 hour period.. Also for people who think that plant based protein is inferior think about where animals which you are eating get their protein..
This video's awesome! I like the balance of using the appropriate terms for processes and whatever is involved in them, all while not going too in depth that it becomes a lecture. I learnt a lot from this, thanks for the upload :D
Eating omelette in breakfast while watching this after a good heavy workout. Love these videos as they help me to better know my body and it's internal functions
Would love to see you interact with folks like Menno Henselmann, Dr. Mike Isratel, Andy Galperin, etc...on topics like these. I feel like a meeting of the minds would be a fascinating watch with everything you know and the research they do.
If a person targetting to take 150g of protein per day and takes 50g from whey, is it harmful? Does it matter if we divide our meals into 4 portions of protein or take it in two big meals due to convenience and time constraint? If i take 70g protein in each of my two meals with 6 hrs apart, would it be wasted? Sorry for so many questions.
There are no essential carbs or fiber. Remember that. Body makes all the glucose necessary from protein and fatty acids. Didn't mention gluconeogenesis.
True, but it's ok to eat carbs and fiber. Sure, you could live off just protein and fat but it's realistically much less convenient. Not to mention vegetables of course. Maybe if you're on a fat loss diet limiting breads and pastas is good (sugar too obviously) but it's more important then to lower consumption overall
Could you make a video about the most unthinkable of and unusual surgery incision places? Like for example when they get to a patient's heart through... groin. I find it fascinating: how such an unusual place comes about, and would also like to see that explained how it works from anatomy PoV.
Timing couldn’t be perfect.. I was breaking my head trying to figure out what the best way to take protein and if I should be considering taking casein as well. But it seems that I have to get the basics right first. Thanks for the great video as always!
seems like it would make more sense to ingest the individual amino acids as it would save a significant amount of energy that is needed to digest the proteins
