mj96 from Hoboken (which is a minute from the tunnel-no traffic) through Manhattan over the Brooklyn Bridge - BQE to the LIE to Long Island during rush hour - about 3 1/2 hours! (44 miles)
kicktotheliver - I know! This is bogus. Just check Google maps and there are always those dark red areas that means congestion. This must be early Sunday morning.
It’s truly enjoyable to sit here and watch these videos and experience the open road and cities like we are actually there, especially when you’re like me (a 19 year old trying to save money to travel) I get to travel around my state (Arkansas) in my car but I sure do wish I could visit New York. These videos truly are a literal archive for history in the future when people want to go back and see what the world was like
It's fascinating how slightly different things are. The way the roads flow together is weird to me, and would totally throw me off if I was driving them, AND that tunnel is BRIGHT!! Our tunnels have these orange lights that get farther and farther apart as you go deeper into the tunnel. Thank you for sharing! Always enjoy these.
"Isn't it true that if just one of those tiles comes loose that millions of gallons of water will come flooding into the tunnel? Is that one loose? Oh my God!" ~ Michael Keaton in The Dream Team (1989)
Apocyl Doomer lmao nyc is the most toured city in America and one of the top toured places in the world. I’m sure the Op won’t be taking your advice 😂😂
I used to make that trip, every few months, to visit my friend in Brooklyn Heights. Whoever said the video trip was probably early Sunday morning, is correct. That's always been the best time to take "The Holland" (in NY metro vernacular).
Yo next time you in DC, check out: Barry Farms, Washington Highlands, or Congress Heights. I’ve done ride alongs in those neighborhoods and those are the worst for Washington DC.
My Staff Sergeant Use to always tell stories about him and his boys walking across this bridge to fight the New Jersey kids from coming over lol late 70s

Levon Sarkisian I guess that means all black people need to go back to Africa, all Mexicans need to go back to Mexico, all Asians go back to Asia, all Arabs go back to the Middle East, and only native Americans can stay here
Not much of a tunnel. Now the Detroit, Michigan to Windsor, Ontario, Canada is a tunnel! Two way traffic. Canadian crossing guards you don't want to mess with! I don't think they trust us Yanks! (g)
I Never Forget There in My Life , Wow Miss Memory.. But Sadly is Now High Rents ,Crimes , Drugs still there not Changed.. My Best FRIENDS Deaf WOMAN told me .. OH No, Well Life ...
Correct. That's true of the George Washington Bridge and Lincoln tunnel. You can go to Jersey for free, but going to Manhattan costs $16 if you don't have an EZ Pass
That decrepit underground Rt 39 in Jersey City leading to the Holland Tunnel is 100 yrs old. It's in awful shape today. Was once an engineering wonder, but is now falling apart and the once classy arches are crumbling and covered in ghetto graffiti. Jersey City has changed for the better, except Greenville and the street level area between Newport & Hoboken, just above the 39 underpass Charlie drove through.
