A lumber man told me once that the boards in a pile are straight until one side gets exposed to the air, and begins to dry. The uneven moisture is what causes them to twist. So it pays to dig down in the pile, and allow all surfaces to dry evenly. You have lovely volunteers. And a volunteer who can do electrical work is worth his weight in gold!
I’m surprised at how many of these grand chateaus have such plain main staircases. Your entrance staircase is beautiful and the wrought iron work is perfect.
Your friends are awesome, Bruce is a star, can't wait to see the wood surround, Everything seems to be coming up roses, in the chateau, the scenery was breathtaking on your outing
I used to live in Lectoure all my children went to school there, looking at your images I could see so many familiar places... wonder why I ever left this part of the world! Beautiful! Good luck with everything I have been following you since you began this youtube journey! You came so far with your beautiful Chateau! Thank you so much xxx
Such a pleasure to see this developing. We are so fortunate to be able to join your life adventures! I love the wallpaper & have worked on our home through the years with wallpapering. It never disappoints! Even beginners!!
I love to watch your progress. In highschool I moved to Spokane WA to live with my aunt.I very much wanted to learn French with much convincing finally my aunt allowed it. I took it for 2 years. I have Never used it. Your playlist is always awesome. Thank you for sharing
Bruce is an angel! His expertise and contribution was so necessary. I’m glad he’s there helping you with this. Your volunteers are awesome. Wanda is delightful. I can’t believe how much progress you’ve made in such a short period do time. It’s great to see you getting the support and help you need to bring this dream to fruition. As always, thank you for sharing your journey with us.
You have such a lovely chateau and you are decorating it so beautifully. Its a bit hard to watch the vlogs though. It would be nice if you would have a volunteer help you film, so that when you film yourself its not so close and you can have more of the background you are talking about in the shot. Maybe also when filming, show the whole room first, so that we can see what project you are working on, then you can zoom in on a door or wall or piece of furniture. Also it would be helpful to introduce each new project, so we know what you will be showing on camera. In editing it would be helpful if you showed one project at a time, instead of showing it chronologically for each vlog. Its easier for the viewer to get a chance to see each space and contemplate the work being done it. Just some thoughts to help you grow your subscriber base.
You are making great strides, and such wonderful helpers. One of your fellow Chateau RU-vidrs also visited the antique store with the huge courtyard. So beautiful..
Dear Abigael, Wanda is very funny and poor Bruce. Please it’s criminal toasting the croissant and chocolatine😂😂😂. I love a pièce of hood for the kitchen, une caresse à Chloe❤,à bientôt. Thérèse.
Love the music you choose for the vlogs Abbie. Another great one this evening, it's so interesting being introduced to your lovely volunteers . Things are really coming together with the team and your good self 😊 XX 💕
Fabulous work! And great volunteers. When I watched Bruce at work on the stove hood, I thought of new world talent, visiting the old world and creating beautiful things. 💕
You are so happy with true friends around and they are a huge help to you. The bedrooms and bathroom are looking so much better than before they came. Bruce knows how to do plumbing and the floor looks great. Happy for you ❤
I love your blogs and I especially like the parts you add just cause you think we might be interested. That is thoughtful of you. Thanks! You have such courage in spite of the things that happen. Some people would call them hardships. You seem like you call it life. Ha! Laurie from Idaho
Thanks, Abby! Great video. That armoire!!! It's gorgeous, and it looks fabulous upstairs on that landing. Wanda is a hoot :) Looks like you all are getting lots done and having fun too.
Please move the linen armoire to the right away from the door frame, it looks like it is "crowded" in relation to the door frame, I heard you saying that you were going to add another bed in the blue room, I think it will look crowded, especially if ypu add some kind of writing desk and some kind of comfortable reading chair and a little side table (which is what I would be doing).
Bruce is a gem! Really, all of your volunteers are. They really seem to be getting things done. The "tree" over the stove is going look fantastic! What a great idea! You are doing a wonderful job, and should be so proud of yourself.👏😊
What an amazing job everyone is doing. I wish I could be there to help you. I love, love château’s, everything antique, Victorian, etc… love that your going to wall paper the “grey room”, it’ll be warm, and opulent! Being a perfectionist, could you center the linen armoire in the hall. It’s too close to that doorway. It would be lovely to see baskets or some decor on top of it to feature the tall ceilings. I wish I could send some of my favorite decor pics, might give you more inspiration. I so love the furniture and chandeliers that you have selected so far. I live in NYC, in a small 1 bedroom, so I’m living my home decor dreams vicariously thru your channel!!! Thank you soo much for sharing. I will keep watching. 💜
Another exciting week Abby! Hopefully your wallpaper is received in time for your volunteer to assist! It’s a beautiful choice! The range hood is going to be gorgeous! Natural wood is stunning it’s going to be so beautiful!! The floors bathrooms and bedrooms are coming together and looking lovely! Lucky ..so many brocantes so little time! Overwhelming amount of beautiful antiques your armoire is gorgeous and 85 euros incredible! Thank you for sharing wonderful and exciting to see all of the progress!! Au Revoir 💜
Mind boggling all the work ! All is sure coming along though. It is looking so lovely. And don’t suppose you will ever tire of all those magnificent views around that area of France-indescribable… 👍👍👍👏👏👏
So excited every week for the updates on the remodel, everything looks really beautiful and i love all the shopping you do , glad you have people helping, it really helps. God Bless
Are you going to have the head and foot boards recovered or cleaned, they are so dirty and they stand out a lot more since the room has fresh paint on the walls.
Tell us about the water coming out of the faucet’s, can you drink it? 😊 ❤️❤️❤️ The light blue room, so pretty. Abby, what ever happened to why the shutters were painted and put up not repaired? Oh the Market day looks so fun. New and unique things to see. ❤❤❤ I’ve another question. I heard you say that Bruce, your husbands friend is coming there to help. I thought you were divorced? Did I get wrong, 🤔…hmm…how could that happen! LOL Interesting sounds while you were checking out the view. What was that sound? 😊 Well, I would love organizing garbage for you. It would be so much fun. The people you have had there to help seem like such fun, talented and sweet people. Enjoy! So glad you are not there alone with all there is to do. 😊 Thanks Abby for the update and the fun Vlog. 👋🏻🧑🦳😊💐
Painted blue room looks great! Could you put the vanity between the windows and the chaise in the corner where it sits with a little table to floor lamp? Cozy! The wood mantle very cool as well
Oh Bruce..thank God he's there for you. Love meeting Wanda. Hope that's the correct way to spell their names. Thank them both for being there to help you and all the other volunteers🙏
This is looking so awesome. What great helpers you have! Loved seeing the shopping. The mantel will be great. So exciting to be along to see everything coming together!
I always look forward to your videos. Especially love when you take us shopping at the brocantes. The restorations are great to watch and to see your progress.
Love seeing all the progress with these great helpers. The markets look like fun to stroll through those big chunks of nougat I would try them all lol you don't see that here in Canada lol
Another great video! “Chloe approved haul!” 😅 Regarding the question of flammable, electricity, and general safety I would think that there is an inspector who must approve all for a such a commercial guest chateau. And that all of the workers have appropriate certifications.
Vous avez accomplie beaucoup de choses avec vos supers bénévoles Bravo! c'est magnifique !!! J'aime bien vos promenades chez les antiquaires aussi, j'aimerais y être avec vous ; un jour... Merci
Another wonderful video, Abby! Your videos are one reason I look forward to Sundays. And all of those lovely religious items in the brocantes...oh my, I'd be poor in a week. Thanks for taking us along with you.
Great vlog love the Brocantes and all there treasures. I see u went back to that one in the stunning building . I love muscles how cool was that feast .❤ Batheooms look 100 times better too . ❤🐕🦋🐾🐐 helo Chloe ❤.
RE: LUMBER Your best friend while restoring is an excellent lumber purveyor. Apparently the store you frequent doesn’t offer very good lumber. Also, pine is not the sturdiest of woods. It wouldn’t be my choice for a fireplace.
The whole crew is there lol! Wow, things are coming together ~ wonderful! I love the linen closet! It's perfect. How lovely this place is gonna be! ,❤️ Glad to see Chloe ☺️ Those oil lamps are nice ( near the end of the video at a market?) They would be handy for each room for guests if the power goes out! 💡 The wallpaper is gonna look get when it gets put up~ stay safe and much love and blessings to you ❤️✝️🙏🏻
