Today I'm doing the mass making technique for clusters/snippets first done by Carol Laws with paper...on fabric! Making a bunch from the same remnant of fabric! I hope you'll craft with me!

I made some fabric clusters while watching 'Hamilton' on Disney+. I slow-stitched them! I don't have a sewing machine... yet! I finally gave my sister her journal, my first. She cried! She wants to help me make some!

Thank you, Gayle, from little old impaired ladies everywhere! In Oregon, the Governor just issued a 'masks inside' mandate, and most places are enforcing it with signs. Altho' where my offspring works (in retail), corporate has a statement to employees that they shouldn't push it for fear of crazy shoppers getting mean and perhaps attacking the employees. The store, however, can be fined if they don't enforce the mandate. So the employees are stuck between a rock and a hard place. We would not have the spread of the disease if only people would stick to a quarantine. But they've got to have their pom-poms or decorative chairs, and no virus will stop an Amurican from their right to kill other people.

Hey friend. Just a thought I had about doing clusters...I like to make each layer smaller than the one below it so that I can see more of the fabrics (or papers) underneath, ending with a small focal point like a button. Yours turned out so pretty! As usual! Thanks for the idea. 🙂❤

You are amazing Gayle!! Love these clusters! Love your joie de vivre ....your giggle and I love that you have so much FUN!!!! ;) PS...that embroidery cloth that you had trouble pronouncing? lol It's pronounced "hard-anger"....a Norwegian embroidery. My paternal grandfather was born and raised in (Nesvaag) Norway....and on one of their visits he took my Grandma to his birthplace and his sisters taught her how to do this beautiful embroidery work. I have several pieces...but haven't the heart to tear into them....so I'm scanning and photographing them so I can use them in my journals and cards. I'm a newbie at this amazing craft....inspired greatly by yourself and Rachel!! Perhaps one day I'll be brave enough to start videoing and sharing what I've done! ;) Thank you for all the amazing videos you create!! :) xo

My husband and I have had a problem over our daughter and family visiting this month. "Just a little old lady with a heart condition" made me laugh out loud! Here in Texas, we got too loose too soon and now we're paying for it. These clusters are awesomely darling!
@rachellee.9389
@rachellee.9389 4 года назад
Yes, 'too loose, too soon' is exactly the way to put it. In Oregon, back in May our Governor wanted to keep us in quarantine until July but the state supreme court (knowing more than medical professionals, no doubt) declared that illegal. So we opened to Phase I and immediately our COVID numbers and deaths spiked.

I love this idea - Ive been wanting to make clusters and snippets so bad but Im still new to this that I don't have enough fabrics/trims of the same color family yet!! But when I do I'll definatly try this. I was very surprised that a glue stick worked to hold them together, I may use stronger glue as I'll have to hand stitch(slow stitch) them together. Thank you for the creative inspiration as usual!!

This went better than I feared. In my mind I saw every cluster jump of into a great big cluster of a mess but only a few went shifting a bit while you ripped the fabric. Nicely done Gayle! Someone else likely suggested already but just in case no one did yet, you might want to use big 🧷 to hold everything down the next time. But then you might not be able to get the pin through... hmmm... Well, you could try 😅❤️
