OMG. I met this man in 2008. He was struggling. He would sleep on the floor of his studio and travel back and forth to his home in Connecticut. Scott is totally dedicated to his art. If you look at his palette he works so neatly and precisely. He showed me his home studio once. A table with each tube of paint neatly lined together in a row and a bottle of Liquin. I was shocked. I thought to myself this man is creating extraordinary paintings out of the simplest collection of supplies. He is a true master with a deep understanding of his craft. I remember going to some of his exhibits. Looking at each other, we marveled at how his paintings were not being noticed. I thought his work was stunning. He knew his work was very special. You have to know that you are talented in order to patiently wait for the recognition. I am proud, beyond understanding. It is truly a gift that he has risen to recognition. While I know he is extremely happy I don’t know if he realizes how proud and happy all of his friends are.

Crazy. My mother in law is pretty good at art as well. It's crazy to watch her easily produce paintings in our own home. Family just got back from Spain couple of months ago showcasing her art work at Claudette Spain gallery. I'm excited for mother in law who is in her 60s.

How wonderful and he has finally gotten the recognition deserves after all his years of dedication. Success doesn't have an age limit. I'm glad that he doesn't have to worry about how I will spend the end of his life now. He should be able to be comfortable now.

Sad that we still speak of success in terms of a dollar value. I'm glad he's earned some money finally, but he was a success before the money came, because he stayed true to his gifts. Success arises in each moment in the chain of a creative process, seen through to it's completion. Devotion can be its own reward, even when it doesn't bring money or recognition from others. And he is definitely devoted to art, or he would have quit when the money didn't come.

That is true success, but there is also the practicality of needing to eat and have shelter. That is part of success, as well.

You're absolutely right. Additionally, I hope he finds comfort in knowing his paintings will be preserved in art institutions, his inner voice will continue to reach others in the future.

My grandmother Susanne Forestieri was an amazing artist. She worked with all mediums and has thousands of pieces in her collection. She was a struggling poor artist her whole life. She got quite a bit of recognition before her death, but I believe she should have been world famous. Look into her artwork if you're interested.
