Hey j rent I need some advice on how to become a musical artist like How to blew up How to get signed to a record label How to find a musical producer How to write your own lyrics How to make your own record label And others
@JRent506
@JRent506 Год назад
There's no way to guarantee success, you just have to work at whatever craft you're interested in. Writing your own lyrics takes practice. You might be able to find a producer by messaging beginner producers on social media sites, but it's not a guaranteed thing, it's just luck. I used to only rap, I never wanted to make beats. I started learning music production because I was tired of paying other people for beats. Funny thing is, music production got me way more attention than my rapping. Sometimes you might not succeed no matter how hard you work at a thing, and sometimes you find success in unexpected places. But the important thing to do is put in the work, make a list of small achievable goals and work toward them on a daily basis.

@JRent506
@JRent506 Год назад
I used discord. There's a discord called "AI Hub" and they have a bunch of voice models on there. Once you find a voice model you have to run a Google Colab script (links to that are also on the discord) and then upload your vocals to run it through the voice model and that'll make you sound like whatever voice model you chose

I think the AI voice is a bit overkill. It's not okay and disrespectful to use a deceased person's voice for a song that you don't even make in honour of him. Even if you make it in honour of him, you should've not used an AI generated voice.
@JRent506
@JRent506 Год назад
Can you elaborate on that? My personal feelings on it are that as long as you aren't using the voice for deception then it's fine. But I'm open to hearing different perspectives and I'd like to understand where you're coming from. These videos where I demonstrate how to sound like an artist really benefit from this technology because I can match my voice to theirs more accurately now. Prior to this all I could do is copy their flow patterns and it was on the viewer to try to imagine the actual artists voice. Would you have the same reaction to this if I wasn't using a filter, but rather was just naturally able to do pretty accurate vocal imitations?
@jetblvck001
@jetblvck001 Год назад
@@JRent506 No, I would not have the same reaction because this is blatantly disrespectful to Biggie. Recently, a bigger producer has done the same (Timbaland), where he put "Biggie's" voice on his own beat because he could not work with him when he was around (RIP). The problem is not the deception as most content that is being put out using this tool is made as clear as day that these are not the actual artists. Rather, the problem is that you are taking advantage of a dead artists name to profit off of (similar to how record labels make posthumous albums like Juice, X, etc.), not to mention, it just comes off as disingenuous anyway, when in the same video you're like "RIP Biggie", than proceed to blatantly rip him off (terribly, might I add) by using his voice.
@JRent506
@JRent506 Год назад
@@jetblvck001 everything you said would still apply even if i weren't using an AI voice filter though, wouldn't it? I'm still using his name in the video, copying his flow, etc. Im gonna be honest, it just sounds like you want to complain about something. Either that or you haven't thought about why this bothers you enough to make a compelling or coherent point. I think comparing this to posthumous albums is laughable. Here's why: its often the case under those circumstances that the label just shits out the artist's half finished work to make a quick buck. Its likely those artists wouldn't have been okay with putting those songs out as finished products. And those half-baked songs can end up watering down their legacy. This is just a tutorial video where I pay homage to a hip-hop icon and try to show people how to sound like him. Its supposed to be educational and entertaining.
@jetblvck001
@jetblvck001 Год назад
@@JRent506 No, it wouldn't. Secondly, the way you downplay it by saying "It's the same as copying his flow" is outright hilarious, considering you are doing more than that (aka, legit replicating his voice). Now, here comes the 2nd point you've made. You have done exactly what those labels have done. You put out a video using Biggie's name and called it a "Biggie" song. You then made the song, lyrics, and even using his vocals to make a "Biggie" song to get a quick buck by putting out an extremely watered down version of a "Biggie" song. You have marketed the video and thus the song as a "Biggie" song. Now you are saying that it's paying homage to him, but HOW? In what way does a cheap and terrible replica pay homage to him?
