I used to think his stuff was wack tbh. But ever since that regular show episode I've had nothing but respect. Him and glover basically curated a style with that one lol, those flows were definitely fresh. Never heard anything like it, you were probably way too old for that stuff tho. Idk maybe rhythms like that are pretty average for them, it was just "different"

You mean in FL Studio? I didnt, it's just a trick for the video. I use a solid color background in FL, key out the color in adobe premiere, put a background video behind it and export it so i can zoom in and out and it gives the illusion that it's actually my FL background.

I wasn't using double time. Usually I'd make the BPM twice as fast as it should be, and in that case the snares are always on the 3 and 7. Usually the snares should go on the 2 and 4, the 3 and 7 thing is just a habit from making so many trap beats.

There are a few videos talking about it. I used a google drive link I found on a Kendrick Lamar video by a RU-vidr named Blue Nova. The filter can be unpredictable with how it interprets sounds. I had to record my verse multiple times to get it to sound right and the google drive stuff doesn't always work. It takes about 15 minutes to set up and if you get an error you gotta start all over again. It can be a bit of a headache but it's cool when you finally get it working.

Why not? I don't see a problem with it, so long as everything is labeled properly and people aren't trying to ruin careers or reputations by passing off content they create as something the actual artist produced. I think it's great tech for this series because it let's people hear a closer representation of what the actual artist I'm covering could sound like on the beat. I'd love to hear other perspectives on this though.

@J. Rent it's just important to be wary about using it and recognizing you're essentially putting words into the mouth of someone who never said them. I think just stress in your videos that music shouldn't be released with lyrics that people never said but you're right in that it's a great example of how the artist could sound on the instrumental
