That boot looks great. Would love to see the black and brown super duty’s with red x outsole those light edges. I have black and brown and now I need those gray SDs!
Great looking boots. I’m not a fan of the MetTarsal guard. I’m impressed either the thickness of the leather over the composite toe. Crawling around on concrete trying to build a excavator bucket can tear up a pair of boots over the toe.
@@k.b.1759 They don't. It's stitchdown construction. Where a GYW boot tucks in the leather in the upper and attaches a welt around it, here they splay the leather out over the midsole and then stitch the two directly together. If you google 'stitchdown construction' you can find diagrams that visualise it very well.
@@k.b.1759 I'm not a boot maker but yes stitchdown is a great construction method. They both have their pros and cons but there's a reason the PNW brands use it, and they make some of the best and toughest boots in the world. Stitchdown is simpler, but actually better in many ways such as being more water resistant.
Ugh I shouldn't have watched this!! Can't wait till mine finally show up! Weird how tradesmen (or at least me) love well made custom work boots so much!
