As a father, this is inspiring to me. My daughter is interested in coding and making games, so we started block coding as well. Keep up the great work!
It's definitely worth it, I started coding at 7 y/o and I don't regret it, I just regret not switching from block coding earlier (I switched to Godot after 6 years of scratch, imo switching after 2 years of active learning scratch is optimal)
I'm currently 17 and am absolutely blown away by what you're capable of. I wish I pushed myself to learn new things more often, because I was stuck in an infinite cycle of making the same things over and over again. It was fun back then, but I regret it now. Just started fiddling around with Unity a few days ago! :)
As a 17 year old game developer, this is really inspiring. When I was 15 I was still trying to remember how you code a basic vector. So it's super impressive to see someone who started at the same age as me but managed to learn so much more! Can't wait to see your journey unfold.

I went from scratch (I was 8 at the time as well lol) to unity as well (I'm 12 now). I've started unreal engine recently but my pc explodes the second I add a tree from a asset pack lol...
best way to start is by having a basic idea of game and try to make it in the choosen engine and try to make as many differnt types of project with different mechanisms

i definitly understand everything you are saying i had a very similar experience i have always wanted to learn to code and make a video game i also started with scratch main difference from me and you is i didnt instantly go with unity and games i decided to start with making mods for minecraft lol
Great video man, i'm learning Unity right now and i'm still in the early stages of learning. Right now i'm at the stage of making a square move with the arrow keys, without looking any code up. I've been using Scratch for 5 years now and i'm kinda a master at it, i'm starting to feel the limitations of Scratch though, not being able to parent objects easily, no physics, and making all systems at a really low level. The problem with working at such a low level is that i can't get to the fun part; the actual content, i'm just stuck at making the tile engine or platforming code for example, and i never get to the fun creative part. This is why i'm learning Unity and won't stop until something better comes up or Unity reimplements the runtime fee idk. Wow, this just got deep, again; great vid man, keep it up!
Im 13 im trying to learn godot. After procrastinating for years, i finally downloaded godot so recently i been trying to find out how to use godot with my limited scratch knowledge and hopefully i succeed.
I’ve now watched all your videos and there is only one possibility You are a team of senior devs, designers and Video editors who use AI to create a voice to pretend to be a 15yo Like holy shit ^^
Yeah, I know it's quite surprising - I think though that realistically, more people could do it, most of them just don't have the determination and interest to do so. I mean, it takes time to do everything, and I doubt most people want to invest that much effort into something they aren't sure of.
I went through the same thing started scratch at 9 moved to gdevelop at 12 ( a no code visual scripting engine) and then moved on to unity to make my dream game at 14
I just did a semester in college to study game dev and truthfully the advice in this video and some others I’ve seen have been far better than what I learned, I’m glad I’m not going back and I’m just gonna learn on my own 😎

I watched your other two videos earlier and i'm definetly keeping my subscription with bells on. I started my game development 4 months ago and made my first crappy game :D So i think i can learn something from you
I'm now 12 years old. I like to do gamedev but i don't know where to start. (Unity Wont Work for some reason, It's a storage problem or something like that)
Storage problem wise, Godot is actually a great choice for engine. It's under 50mb iirc. I think it's better to start learning programing itself before game developing 🤔 So it's easier to understand what's happening because the syntax just resembles each other. Im not a game dev… maybe just yet, but im learning programing in college. And with the basics I know, I do understand why the codes are written the way it is in videos.
Yeah, I did think that might be a problem, but I didn't really have much background footage related to the video and figured it would be an ok way to fill the video. Hopefully though in future the videos will have more actual video and less icons.
