I'm really happy to see Unity recognized your talent and sponsered your video. I said it before and I say it again, this channel is really underrated. Great content as usual, keep it up!
I picked up Top Down Engine in a bundle and started using it back in May. So far, it's fantastic. It has just about everything you need for starting a top-down style game. The documentation is good and the developer responds quickly in both the Unity Forum thread and in Discord. I can't recommend TDE highly enough for anyone starting a top-down style game.
I can't say enough good things about More Mountains. I use the corgi engine, and I have learned so much from their code. I think its great even if yoy don't know how to code. They are also very responsive on their discord, and if you are a coder, they will give you tips on modifying the eninge to fit your needs.
This is useful insight 👍 Some days i work for 12 hours on my game and coding and forget to stop and take time for myself. I guess its better to treat this game dev journey as a marathon, not a sprint. ✌️😌
This was a truly useful and informative video - thanks for that! So many packages I didnt know existed that I can keep an eye out for for my own games!
Thanks for sharing these! All of these sound great and I've added them all to my favorites list on Unity! Will definitely need to think about picking some up in the future.
Will there be an option to toggle off or tone down the player hit effects and screen flash/pulsing effects in general? It seems a bit excessive and will definitely hurt a lot of peoples' eyes after a while.
I'm thinking of adding a slider (or a toggle, one or the other) that will make it adjustable. I like LOTS of juice, but I know it might be a bit much for some people
I really wish there was some way to try these assets before buying. Animancer lite is a good example. If you aren't already making money with unity, then some of the asking prices seem prohibitively steep.
ifreaking love unity assets man, so many amazing, incredible and really fun ones out there made to improve all our projects lol people often are afraid to use assets because other lame snobby people make them feel bad for using assets for literally NO reason so many avoid it to only have absoluitely lazy effects and amature results when they could've spruced it up with a few nice assets to help them in the beggining, they should be something you encourgae man! heelp out those indie devs making assets to make things easier for the rest of us lol
Note, just found for A*: "As of January 2024, the price of this package, which has remained at $100 for over a decade of continual development, will be adjusted to $140. "
If someone is looking for devkit to develop a card game i cannot recommend other than TCG Engine, the code is awesome made and modular enough to build any CCG on top of it.
I build my steam game using Destructible 2D and i have fully destructible environment like in worms so good but that way only the beginning it speed up the process a lot but still i spend 2 years on that game...
is there any new good assets you can recommend? i've already purchased the ones u mentioned in the past store deals. i agree these asset are very useful, hence i think most dev have gotten them long long ago....
