Glad to see Leonidas being able to immerse comfortably into the Singapore society; and thank you, Asia One, for sharing another wonderful story of foreigners making Singapore their new home. I wish you wouldn't mind my sharing something on grammar with fellow Singaporeans: 1:00 "I lived in Singapore for 9 years plus". This sentence means he's not living in Singapore anymore. It should be "I have lived in Singapore for 9 years plus". It means he's still living in Singapore. (1) He learnt English in school = He learnt English in school in the past but now he doesn't. (2) He has learnt English in school = He started learning English in the past in school and he is still learning English in school now.

@@impopquiz Aiyah, I'm not commenting on his English but just wish to share a grammar lesson with fellow Singaporeans. If you don't have children sitting for PSLE or GCE English, you won't be interested to know why it's 'an MRT station' and 'a university' because our EL teachers taught us "use an before AEIOU".

his wife is Singaporean thus he's son in law of Singapore. Doesn't matter where he is from anyway. He should now know in Singapore every man or woman who is slightly older is being called uncle or aunty irregardless of their skin colour.
