From the Beginning - Dreamcatcher(드림캐쳐) 'Chase Me', 'GOOD NIGHT', '날아올라 (Fly high)' Reaction 

The “welcome to my dream world” part near the end of Good Night is seriously one of my favorite things in any Dreamcatcher song

Happyface was quite a small company. They had one reasonably successful girl group, Dalshabet, and when that group began to implode in 2014 they debuted Minx as it's replacement. They didn't have enough money to properly promote Minx so it failed. Love Shake, their comeback MV, was one of Dalshabets's B-sides so they couldn't even a afford a new song for their first comeback. In 2016, Happyface made a deal with ImagineAsia, a large multimedia conglomerate, to get the financing to create Dreamcatcher and pay for their first few MV's. The deal meant that Happyface gave up it's status as an independent private company and became a subsidiary of ImagineAsia. It was a huge gamble and the girls themselves, especially Sua, were worried the whole thing would fail. It didn't, but they still had 5 years of a very uphill battle against the corporate forces of mainstream Kpop before they finally received their first music show win. That win was decided by their international fan base which is much larger than their Korean fanbase. Korean fans are dedicated and fiercely loyal to Dreamcatcher, but there just aren't enough of them to outvote the large domestic fanbases of mainstream groups. Despite that, Dreamcatcher have single handedly changed the direction of Kpop and new groups debuting in the last few years look a lot more like them than they do like typical third gen groups. Everyone approaches Dreamcatcher differently and I can tell you're a music person and not a story person so I won't go into the story. I've been explaining the story for 5 years and I'm kind of burned out. There's lots of info on the net if you're interested in the story. I'll just say that the final drone shot in the MV shows the girls standing in a pentagram formation since they've become a coven of witches. Fly High is the prequel to Chase Me so it shows how they became the witch ghosts you see in Chase Me.

Loving your DeuKae journey so far💕. I see you notice Fly High was brighter than the other two.. well idk if you notice, Fly High is the prequel for Chase Me which at the time when they were still alive, hence why the song are brighter if that make sense..

A little Easter egg on fly high, the scene where Handong was throwing the paper airplane out the window, if you look at the windows on the bottom you can see couple of the girls watching her. Not all people catch that even I didn't lol. Also a little tidbit (if my info is correct) fly high was filmed during their first tour in Europe. Hence how they was using European buildings for the mv. Some reactors questioned if "chase me" and "goodnight" was filmed in the same building, but it's not. Also I wouldn't try to make sense of their storyline too much, cus they dont really connect, it's just a Rollercoaster of greatness, we all just enjoy the ride! Lol. You will see tidbits of stuff from one mv in another. Like that group photo of them you been seeing in these videos, and that spider Yoohyeon burned with a magnifying glass in "fly high" will come to her in the next MV. But then again, this is the nightmare series, and we all know nightmares are a jumble of random stuff happening, so in a way it does make sense lol. Also you mentioned that you wanted them to come to Canada, they never did Canada tour, perhaps not many Canadian fans of their's. But I have an InSomnia friend that lives In Canada that had to fly to the states to see them in California this past summer. If they do another American tour you might have to do that if you want to see them live. Oh if you look in my channel I got some videos I've uploaded from the last concert I went to see them, you can watch them at your own convenience lol, but u can see the hype they get at their concerts lol.

in the series Nightmare: FlyHigh (prequel story) . Chase Me (debut song) . Good night . you and i .What . Piri (Final??) &. . Breaking Out (alternate ending if we include the 1st. theme in Japanese). There are key elements: + The spider that catches JiU and burns Yoohyeon with the magnifying glass. (Note on YouandI) + The Mirror that comes out of that black liquid in the middle of the garden (in Goodnight the mirror also appears a lot, is that where the subject is caught?) + The Book and the cloak (of witches') + Blue Butterflies (beginning of FlyHigh surrounding JiU// Note in DejaVu alternate world?)

Explanations: In the Ojibwe tradition, then all the First Nations as they adopted dream catchers, spiders are protectors and guardians. That's why dream catchers are shaped like spider webs that catch bad thoughts before they can enter your dreams. When JiU captured the spider and Yoohyeon roasted it with the magnifying glass they lost their guardian and evil spirits started taking them over in their sleep, making them act weird in the woods. In You & I you'll see how they die/get cursed and end up as spirits 100 years later in Chase Me. Ghosts haunting the abandoned boarding school(?) for 100 years are bored as hell so Chase Me is about messing with that guy for a thrill. In Good Night he finds the Evil Book and their photo and casts spells on Gahyeon and SuA, so they use their powers to get the book back, trap him, and escape their prison.

actually the producers and video director for chase me are really famous and prestigious people in the industry, they just chose to make that video look like that for the story... the video director is the same one that filmed ateez's the real and guerilla. and they used the same team for good night music video and song.

the reason fly high is lighter is because it's the prequel of chase me, it's before they become nightmares, you see them change throughout the video.

Own interpretation: * Fly High:. Some girls attend a boarding school: sunny day, picnic,they play and laugh. There is an entity or presence there (which was already there) or it is unleashed with a curse when Jiu catches the spider and Yoohyeon burns it with the magnifying glass. That entity hunts girls (is it abstract? it possesses objects like the mannequin in the attic? that's what covered Gahyeon's eyes in the room? it possesses girls... when they change their behavior...? .) Dami is in a library with books... Sua and Siyeon come from the forest with a cape and book(s) (is it the famous book that appears in chase me, goodnight, What...?) THE girls were doing witchcraft and that woke up the evil entity? When Yoohyeon goes to the garden and touches the mirror and that black thing comes out... is that thing that comes out of the mirror like that free and is it what possesses the girls or are they clones taking its place?) At the end of FlyHigh Jiu runs to the exit to close the gate. not to allow something not to enter but not to let it Out. In the end Dami says that they are already trapped in the nightmare. *Chase Me: pass the time. A hotel is built where the boarding school used to be. But apparently it is uninhabited... have there been rumors of ghosts or that it was possessed? (Are the girls ghosts or do they manifest as nightmares? Are they from this real world, from another time or are they from the other side of the mirror? ) The investigator rents a room and it is seen that he was following the case of the girls or was it them who led the subject to the room so that he knows about them. Did they want to scare him or draw his attention? (they harass him in the corridor, they drive him crazy changing the room numbers, they throw the books, the face in the window, the nightmares at night...) he senses things but he can't even see them through the cameras. + Another key element: THE OLD PHOTO OF THEM that Sua cuts out and puts in a frame (they appear in several mV of the saga). *GOOD NIGHT: the investigator (nightmare chaser maybe?) enters room 808 and finds the girls' past life information (when they were alive, how did they get the book/grimoire... how did they die and why? girls when they found out he was investigating them they used their nightmare roles to torment him but it didn't work for them. the man wanted more answers. He finds the book and starts reading it, they make a ritual to take it away and they achieve it by putting their hand through the mirror they also distract him by blowing up the subject's office taking all the books off their shelves... when everything calms down he raises a dream catcher and at one point it's on a wall mirror.. on that wall there are biography papers of the girls (part of their research) and they are wearing those capes (same as in FlyHigh). Questions: Why did they burn only a few pages of the book? (eg when Sua is holding branches in the form of arms of armoires and the fire is connected); What or who was chasing the girls in the forest? Why did they end up wearing those capes...? Are they protectors of the 'Dream Catcher'? then they show a bit like the girls being chased through a forest and do they drop the book for accident or do they intentionally drop it? The mirror plays an important role because that is where the man is caught.

Idk if you knew that Fly High was a prequel, but basically it's how they died. JiU trapped that spider which cursed them and then Yoohyeon killed/burned it which basically got them all permanently damned and "trapped in the nightmare". Then that dude goes there and they all haunt him (and maybe try to get him to find out what happened to them only to trap him in there? maybe it was a trade idk) At least that's what I think happened, I'm sure someone else picked up on more and actually did research though

In Minx Dami was made to rap higher than what's natural for her and 2017 Dreamcatcher was a transition to their new way of doing things.The next song in the series 'You & I' you'll see Lee Yubin complete her metamorphosis and the beginnings of the Dami you know today. SuA's whisper rap is devastating I love it. She did it again years later in BEcause (BEcause is the love child of Good Night and Red Sun). It WAS a little weird to have jaunty music and a happy face start the videos then immediately the guitars DADADADADADA as they sing about nightmares, being lost and alone in terror, so I support the restructure to DCC. HFE put all their idol groups into their own company like D1ce Entertainment.

happyface was a pretty small company, not like the smallest but from what ik, before dreamcatcher they only had one decently successful group (a gg called dalshabet) and had a few soloists and a couple ballad groups, i think they had some actors too but not sure. now, besides deukae, they have a boygroup called d1ce, but i think they are kinda nugu and i think they have a 3 member bg that i don't remember the name. these groups belonged to hf but are now in subsidiary companies that belong to dc company and were created after happyface rebranded has dcc

When it comes to the Nigjtmare Series, most watch in order of release; that’s what I did once I found out that Piri and You and I (the 4th and 5th I watched when I was getting into them and clicking random stuff) were apart of a sorry. After I watched in order I then watched it starting with Fly High to see how that worked. Normally, Fly High works as something of a flashback, but I tend to watch the series now with Fly High as the start that sets up Chase Me. Good Night is the last time we get rapper SuA until BEcause.. she apparently did not like her rap style and wanted to focus on vocals. Ages at time of debut- Jiu and SuA (23), Siyeon (22), Handong (21), Yoohyeon and Dami (20), Gahyeon (18) Nightmares they represent and they are incorporated in small ways. Jiu- fear of being chased SuA- fear of being restrained Siyeon- fear of small spaces Handong- fear of being watched Yoohyeon- fear of being lost Dami- fear of being hurt Gahyeon- fear of falling

Dreamcatcher isn't the only group under happyface ent. Just like dreamcatcher there's D1ce (a boy group) under happyface ent. But they have their own subsidiary company(D1CE ENT.) like dreamcatcher is under dreamcatcher company. Happyface also has other groups like Classmate(boy group) and soloists(like sieun) under them but not as popular as dreamcatcher You can actually go to the Happyface entertainment RU-vid channel and check their featured channels to see the groups too

Wow, music production is definitely not better . Through the decades music trends come and go and styles drastically change. Saying that just because it's 2022 the music production is automatically better is completely false. Don't take this the wrong way, I'm speaking of popular music not just KPOP. In ten years we will all look back at 2020's music and go "Oh that totally sounds 2020's. Not because music production got any better, just that styles , trends & Sounds change. I guarantee BLACK PINK songs will sound dated in ten years, not because production is so great but what's in style changes. Sorry for the rant. I love music from all decades and love all the styles that come and go.
