One of the things I love about stationary is how subjective it is. As a teacher I use the exact same setup. TN for my personal journal and the Galen A5 in natural for my school schedule and daily lesson plans. I've ended up with the Lamy 2000 in fine and the Twisbi 580 stub in the TN. The Lamy for notes and the Twisbi for journaling. I like my journaling to be done with an expressive nib. So awesome to see the same set-up, basically, express two different people's desires. Thank you for the vid.

Love these videos! SO incredibly cozy. I'm glad you're enjoying the different nib on your Lamy 2000. Also stay warm! Your walk to work looks like a lovely one!

You have identified the problem with the Hobonichi. I used the Hobonichi Cousin for two years and gave up because there were too many blank pages when I didn’t feel like writing. So I went back to the Midori blank notebook A5 size to use as my writing journal. For calendar and travel notes, I use the TN. I use the CD notebook for taking notes during online courses.

Your voice sounds better which I hope means you are continuing to heal. This was a nice chat from your desk. How nice you can walk to work. I'm always on the lookout for TRP52 in higher count pages TN size blank, oh yeah that's affordable! I think I've seen everything and keep coming back to the Travelers Lightweight Paper insert with the TRP52gsm which I can get on sale through various vendors. At least there are 128 pages but my journaling pace puts me at about four books per year. If I come across anything in an A5 blank with more pages that you haven't seen I'll let you know! Enjoy the snow when you can. We've had over two years here in Western NC central mountains without anything significant which has been a bummer.

I love the snow! We're expecting it again next week. I'm probably the only one in my city who would welcome it with wide open arms at this point lol. I agree on the lightweight paper both in terms of how awesome it is and how limiting the sheet count can be. Hope you're doing well. Have a lovely day!

I use the Smythson Panama notebook as my edc notebook. There is an a5 Soho notebook but this is €225. But the paper is heaven! 50GSM and I can write on it with my Pelikan M1000 (M Nib) on both sides. Greetings from the Netherlands

I wonder if the Tomoe River Goulet notebooks would be good? Great video and I hope all is well!

Hey! Hope you're doing well. I had considered it but with shipping and import duties it became a very expensive option... The struggle is real lol

Galen leather makes their own notebooks using tomoe river paper. They’re what I use to journal and I highly recommend!

So badly wanted to get one and unfortunately with shipping and import it doubles the cost. Someday! Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful day!

[ 18:05 ] Notebook Suggestions: [ A5 Hobonichi notebook ] Tomoe. Pretty cheap if you order from the official store. Otherwise, i think it'd be around 22$. It has faint grid lines about 4 or 5mm. Comes in different covers, standard one being yellow. [ Life Noble notebook ] havent tried but saw pretty good reviews, perform as well as Tomoe. Eager to try this. [ Stalogy ] comes in 365 or 1/2 year. The cover is pretty minimal. Tomoe like in thinness but as far as reviews go, does not perform as well as Tomoe in displaying ink properties. But I'd say it should be good enough for daily writing. I found cheap ones for these online. Highly suggest this very informative from Fountain Pen Therapy for paper comparisons: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0z1-Ite8ccM.html Love your videos btw!

Thanks very much! All good options with high costs to get them to where I live unfortunately. I've tried the Life notebook in the past. In my experience the Life paper had more toothiness and didn't have the same sheening characteristics show up in the ink. It's aggressively priced though. I may try it again some day. Have a wonderful day!

Do you use your A5 for only notes and TN for your schedule? Love your videos 👍 Try Nanami Paper and Sterling Ink, not positive they are blank but both nice notebooks for TRP.

Hi there, A5 for long form journaling and notes. TN now for sketching and short form notes on the go. I'm currently planning in the Hobonichi A6 to see if it would be a good fit. Thanks for the kind feedback and stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Have you tried the Stalogy 365? It’s not Tomoe, but it’s just as wonderful. Same attributes.

Thanks for the recommendation. I have although I find the grid pattern in the background just a little too distracting. All that being said, incredible paper indeed! Have a great day!

I have several of the original Popov leather covers. Do you find the new ones, with the two loop pen closure, easier to hold a fountain pen? I love how they look, especially the English tan

I had to go find an old popov leather to compare. The answer to your question is yes. The newer 2 pen loop is better both for holding the fountain pen and for the cover to also hold it's shape over the long haul! Thank you for the question and have a great day!

i love the beautiful patina your notebooks are developing! they’re just gorgeous. i purchased a Kunisawa notebook at wonder pens…online. it’s a tn size with 5mm soft grey grids but it’s fabulous paper. it’s buttery smooth. a quick search found they have an a5 size. maybe your friends at wonder pens could help. 😊 thanks for sharing your lineup
