Also - his performance on letterman of make it rain is legit one of the best late show performances of all time
I was really excited because I thought this was going to be John Waite. My mistake! Lol!!! John Waite has that great song, "Missing You." Tom Waits is way different. Powerful song though.

@@THEDEEPDIVE Tom Waits is highly, deeply theatrical. I first saw him perform at a small theater in Santa Cruz, CA. He was touring (,with Leon Redbone opening) the album, Small Change. He might've opened his show this way, but i think it was nearer the end : the stage lighting faded to black, there were shuffling sounds, a match lighted, and then the light faded back up - and there was Tom, leaned up against one of a pair of retro gasoline pumps, smoking that cigarette. Exhaled, and launched into "Small Change". I think he's happy to jump onto a movie set.

Glad to hear someone wanting to hear more from james.. comments in other videos just want him to go away. Lol. I do my best to give him air time. I think the mistake I made on this is I should have edited my own comments a lot more.
@@nomchompsky2883 thanks. Hope you check out some of our other vids. We are just getting started. James and I have been best friends since high school. Best man's at each others weddings and all that. One thing that folks don't realize is that we aren't in the same room. We are recording remotely (several states away) and there is a delay.. which leads to some of the talking over each other aspect of this.
Not sure why you picked the movie video rather then watch the real music video, well, your in for even more of toms magic when you watch the intended video. This version of the video, sucks really bad.
I picked it because The Punisher is my childhood favorite comic and the reason I discovered the song. Also The Punisher (as a character and as a series) deals a lot with veteran issues reflected in this song. If you aren't into The Punisher series then you might not like the video I chose and that's ok.. we both love Tom Waits and this song and that should be enough for us to get along.. we are a rare animal.
@@THEDEEPDIVE don't get me wrong i was glad to watch it, but the real video adds so much more to the song. I actually think it's the 2nd best video ever made for a song, just behind the cranberries Zombie song. I am a comic fan, but i do feel that version visually just does not match up to the song.
