I just landed one of these, a size large 2011 white Flash 3, all stock in a 9+ out of 10 condition, for $280 USD! Weighs 25.4 pounds (11.44 kg) with stock wheels, tires, saddle, etc - amazing a stock cross country bike at this weight! The only thing I needed to do was add air to the shock... I wish there was a little more clearance in the front shock, like the older forks. This bike would absolutely rock with 27.5 wheels...

i started being a "recyclist" buying cool oldschool bikes (if possible, cannondale! ;)) and started giving them a new life with cheap but good parts. Since i do not own and do not want to buy a bike for 2000.-$, i also enjoy saving money and having a cool oldschool bike while keeping the enviorment as healthy as possible.

I had a similar deal some years ago. I got a Giant Anthem, with 26 wheels, for 300 GBP. All I did was converting the drivetrain from 3x9 to 2x9, and this week it will get a new rim, so I can make it tubeless. I was thinking of getting a 29er, but instead of that, I will stick with this.

I have the 2013 F3 "replacement frame" when my 2006 F800 frame developed a crack around the bottom bracket and I can say this is a quality frame especially when you pair it with the lefty fork like I have on mine. Need to buy a camera so I can post videos of it because it is out of this world especially at night with the Radlicht wheel lights I have installed in the wheels.

Nice job! I had a lot of fun with each step. The only down side I'd say is that MTB geometry has changed a lot. Now a roadie restoration project would make even more sense. Get your hands on a 1996 Cipollini CAAD3 and see what happens.

Stumbled upon your video and it's exactly what I'm trying to do at the moment - nice 1x10 clutch drivetrain, 27.5 wheels and air fork for under 300 dollars. Bought a very neglected Focus Black Forest for 220, I'm selling the frame and XT/SLX drivetrain to buy a brand new Deore M6000 drivetrain with no-name brand 11-50 cassette and 32t sprocket. I had an old 26 frame laying around which fits 27.5 wheels very nicely. Combined with the RockShox Recon Silver, it should make a nice bike once I'm finished and if I manage to sell everything I don't need, it should cost 295 dollars. Can't get better than that... :)

Can you do a video on what types of grease, anti-seize, carbon paste,... to use on what place on the bike? Also explain maybe the different types of grease: lithium, white grease, silicon spray, bearing grease,... I'm going to do a bikebuild with a carbon frame but can't figure out what type of grease to use on what location on the bike. Sometimes you hear that there are greases that are bad for the carbon if exposed for long periode of time, is this true?
