A walk through of the three ways to obtain your first visa extension in the Philippines and obtaining your second visa extension (of up to six months) and your Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR Card). You will also find an introduction to Jennifer Terri's Channel (if you're not familiar with her, she is THE Philippine travel expert). Link to her channel is also below.
I obtained my ACR and second extension at the BGC office. Total for my six month extension and ACR card was less than 14,000 pesos. Actual fee breakdown is on my website. Link below. I have also placed a link below to download extension application so you can complete it before arriving at Bureau of Immigration.
Another RU-vidr (Paddy) claims to have paid twice the amount in Makati as he paid in BGC. The link to his video about this is also below.
VERY IMPORTANT:
Make sure to checkout the caveats at the end of the video; especially if you have plans to depart the Philippines in the near future or are driving here.

I also did second extension online, for 2 months. I think its mandatory to extend for 2 months after the first 29day extension. In the second extension, I paid ACR-I card fees. First extension is called visa waiver extension, second extension is regular visa extension. Since I need my ACR card for my girlfriend's GCP, after about 80 days since I arrived, I went to Cebu immigration district office in gmall, and they told me i need to come back after 1 month. I assume it means 1 month after I did the second extension. I will go there in few days to try again.

Hi Joe - I want to buy a scooter in the Philippines for moving around from place to place. The reason I would want a scooter is because I'm not familiar with shifting gears. Is there a scooter that would give you the ride or torque of a regular motorcycle and be automatic?

Hi Harold, There are several Maxi-scooters available here as anything below 400 cc's is not allowed on the expressways. The Yamaha TMAX and another by Honda jump to mind. They are super expensive, but offer a lot. My KTM was 599,000 pesos and the Yamaha and Honda are more expensive. Honda has a motorcycle with an automatic transmission. For me doing research was a big part of the adventure! Cheers, Joe

I've been here for 6 months I have a ACR hard it says tourist do you know how I can get residency ?

The only way I’m familiar with is a retirement visa (SRRV). The fees vary depending on the type. Work and getting married are also ways. Mine still says tourist and I’m okay with that. I think the only downside is if you want to open a checking account here, it can’t be a tourist visa. A savings account is no problem. (I was told that by a bank executive.)

@Joeysgonerogue ya very frustrating can't even open a basic checking account I guess I can keep getting extensions till 36 months
