I'm a Hawk, Cousins was electric, dangerous like a brand new razor blade, could turn on a dime and once he pinned the ears back near goal, put down the glasses, Goodnight Irene. He's been through hell too. Much respect for Cousins with all he's gone through especially when the TV Stations stuck the boots into him and marketing and vilifying the drug drama like a Soap Opera without firstly care for the humanity ..
@swarti2036 only because the average kid couldn't afford the lawyer, your commenting on something you know nothing about, one thing i have learnt about the law system it's all about the money ypu have to spend on the lawyer, I know people who have been charged with big quantities of drugs who have money for the lawyer that get less time than a poor kid who can't afford the lawyer. You can get away with any crime if you have the money for the lawyer to free you your time.
It’s not only great to see Ben back and looking good but it’s also great to see all the love and support he’s received in the comments section ❤. He’s been and may always be my favourite Footy player of all time so watching this was a pleasure
Never comment on these. I'm so so so f**king glad that Benny is killing it again. He seems like such a genuine, likeable guy. He was an absolute superstar on field, and obviously let down but a few bad choices, but what a come back. He surely needs to be a beacon of all that needs inspiration for those struggling with substance abuse. Cheers Benny, what a legend
Not that it's any of our business, but I'd love to know what switch flicked in Ben's head to finally make the changes he needed to live with some stability... It's such a shame that the last insight we got into his life was that horrendously directed Basil Zempilas documentary when he was still quite clearly affected by drugs... He really does look like he's turned his life around and I think any reasonable person that knows about Ben and his journey couldn't be happier for him.
He finally realised he had been given so many chances and continually stuffed them up that he had to go on the straight and narrow!!! As a huge Eagles and Ben fan I'm so glad he has done so but he did let alot of people down and I believe he is showing how grateful he is by using this last chance positively!!!!
@@Sheppo42 no, I’m not saying that at all as (thank god) Basil had nothing to do with that. I’m saying the one that came out in 2020 and exploited someone who was clearly still very affected by drugs
Grew up idolising Ben as a massive eagles supporter. He was just unreal to watch and always told people when asked who my favourite player was, the answer was always Ben. Great to see you turned your life around mate you’re a legend of the AFL and should be in the hall of fame in my opinion. Cheers
He was a sensational player! One of the greats. One of the last of the duel sided midfield era who could kick goals on his left from 50 and hit a forward lace out on his left as well
Good on you Ben, takes alot of work to turn things around. You look great, sound great and I'm really happy for you and your family. All credit to you ❤.
Yeah, great to see him well hey.. well done Ben , get your life back on track.. champion on and off the field.. we're all not perfect and he never harmed anyone.. Young fella , just enjoying life .. like we're all meant to do..
Coasts version of Dermott Brereton, favourite colour Sherrin Red, Goalpost White and MCG Green. So happy and relieved to see Ben well. And he looks so well. I always thought he was a competitor, after footy I thought he needed to get into something like triathlon or body building to fill the void.
All that hardship bad choices misfortune and scrutiny you can’t really tell he was meth head for ages lucky genetics and great job getting well again was one of the best players ever
As a swans fan I’ve always looked at the 2006 grand final as the stolen premiership with a lot of the players affected by social drugs. I would however say that Ben articulated it very well that the period of success should have really been shared by two teams (as it has).
And you???? Congratulations on being one of only two asshole comments on this post. What have you contributed to our world. Obviously no understanding of the control of addictions on people.
Ben Cousins, had a privileged childhood played some good games and a lot of fame and made good money for the time, became full of himself until only he Not the team mattered to him he should not be all hall of gamer because bringing the game into disrepute should disqualify him,his parents deserve any accolades,DV ,his deviate in the closet behaviour, what a waste
im melbourne based, never had much of a chance to hear ben speak outside of all the medie whirlwind at end of his career. i gotta say very eloquent, smart fella. he gave off some great vibes yesterday and yeh just thought he did a great job and won loads of respect over here.
Not sure if you can call a 6 x AA, 4 x B&F, MVP, brownlow medalist and premiership player a waste of a career. Certainly had more to give but achieved everything possible in the AFL
@@DB-my7wl Technically no hall of fame, no norm smith so no he didn't achieve everything possible ! It was a sad way to end a career for such a talented kid from a great family. By the way I have supported the Eagles since 1986😀anyway like I said good to see him cleaned up and back on track.
