even if its rounded you can cut threaded nut clean in half from the side. Then it will come off with wisegrips. Before you say its not holding or unsafe to re tighten I've been driving 10+ years like this and always comes off easy no problem + volvo has safety 4 line front calipers even if it leaks so good luck trying to say its not good because you just got owned doing extra work.
Is it ok to reuse the caliper carrier bolts? Haynes manual says you should use new bolts each time but I don't see why (if you clean off the old thread locker).
they stretch when they’re fully torqued. that’s why you should change. i’ve been running mine without changing though. should be fine. just not ideal if you’re a perfectionist.
@@curtiswilson677 Thanks for that. I never understood why the bolts needed to be changed while the brake carrier into which the bolts were screwed did not need to be changed.
Thank you for posting this. Do you need to remove rust protective coating on discs out of the box? I have had my 940 since 2005. Every two or three years the front brakes start vibrating under strong deceleration. I replace the front discs and the problem goes away for another few years. I don't know why I have the problem. My 1998 V90 does not have the problem.
