Step by step video on how to replace the front brakes on a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser. I replace the rotors, pads, and hardware. I also found that 3 out of the 4 pistons on the passenger side caliper were frozen so I also replace that caliper. Lastly I replace a stud on one of the wheel spacers that I had previously messed up. I'm getting a slight pulse when breaking as well. pads are good, rotor is good so the next step would be checking the caliper pistons. These things can be difficult to diagnose. This vid helped. All your vids are very helpful. Keep up the good work.

@@johnharland2336 thank you for the comment. I can’t remember everything I said in this vid but we have actually replaced both front calipers due to some of the pistons sticking, we had a vibration under braking that I thought was warped rotors but it ended up being a stuck piston in one of the calipers. I removed the caliper off the rotor and pressed the brake pedal to push the pistons out and one of them wasn’t moving at all, which is how I figured it out.

@@kamalakeel I'll try that. Could be baring's but a standard check shown no issues. Thanks...

Interesting that you used two of the pad spring clips. Stock only has one, at the bottom of the caliper. I'm going to go with two as well. As long as you have an extra spring clip, might as well use it and make the system more reliable.

Yeea, exactly haha. We actually had an issue when I just had the one where it was popping out sort of halfway and would make a weird clicking kind of noise at low speeds with the windows down cause it was just stuck in there but ever since I started using two we haven’t had any issues.

loved this.. I have a 2008 FJ. Do you have a shop? Also love the music in the background. I was just wondering when you were going to put out a new video.

It’s just a small one car garage I rent so doing some work can be difficult but it works for the time being. Thanks for the comment.

How's it going. I'm coming across your video a little late but I just did front pads and rotors on my 07 fj using oem toyota pads, rotors , shims and one anti rattle spring like toyota spec shows. My rig stops fine but I have a terrible annoying brake squeal when I hit brake pedal??? Any ideas or have u had similar experience or issues on your fj? I greased the back of pads and used the 2 shims. I'm at a loss on what it is.. I have taken brakes back apart twice now lol. Thank you!
