I have had one for years. Works well on snow, weight on the hitch 200 lbs. Rubber style wheel chains. Push or move, works great. If pushing, dump the bucket over first.

I bought a 3rd mower to be used as a utility tractor around our acreage and couldn't find the need for a 10k UTV as I don't see me using it enough to warrant 10k. So....I found a $40 craftsman lt2000 on facebook and fixed it up. It just needed a deck belt and new wiring going from the starter solenoid to the starter....now it runs like a champ. I built a cart for the back of the mower that can hold tools and buckets and I built a front loader from scrap metal I had in my shop. When I looked up the Johnny bucket and this one I couldn't see myself spending more money for a front loader bucket then the whole lawnmower is worth so I made it myself. I think in the end front loaders do work on mowers but it's still a pain in the butt just like hand shoveling with all the adjustments that have to constantly be made. But, it's nice to not have my back hurting at the end of the day from shoveling so I suppose the front loader is nice haha. Great vid!

I own one of these. Used it to move gravel. A lot of the welds are basically spot welds. Mine lasted about an hour before I needed to re-weld. Note, he mentioned in a post how it needed adjusted every hour....and that is the truth. It is as if the bucket bends slightly, making the pivot release move slightly out of sync w/ the pin. A real pain-in-the-a**. If I had the money I would have bought a Johnny Bucket...and at the time he said he didn't make an attachment for my new sears tractor (g8400). May try adding actuators...can't find a vid of someone else doing it yet.

I've seen a photo of a stock Crafts man tractor scoop with the front actuator installed. The unit still had the dump handle, but the lift and lower function was handled by a small actuator. Sadly I have never found the model number to see about ordering the parts needed to convert mine to partial electric. I still love mine even with its faults. I'd rather make adjustments ever few hours of use then have to do the work by hand and wheel barrel.

Thanks for the reply farpoint. I will look for that photo. Noticed the purchase of the new scut. Congrats! I have the go ahead for the purchase..yet to decide what to purchase (scut, used skid steer, bobcat 5600, etc).

Thanks for posting this. I have this scoop and I was beginning to lose faith in it; but, as soon as my mower gets fixed I'm going to look at it again. I've been dumping the mulch in a dump cart. I really need to look at the clearance on the dump. I'm doing back to eden gardening and this was taking my newspaper out of the mix when i dumped my compost.
@FarpointFarms
@FarpointFarms 7 лет назад
Glad to hear it. The scoop is a great little tool, but can be a bear to setup right. Even setup well, it does require adjustments about every hour of use to keep it working just right. Over all though I think its been a really good investment. Good luck, and let me know if you have any questions.

Can you use this scoop to dig into the ground couple of inches and take off the top soil?
@FarpointFarms
@FarpointFarms 5 лет назад
Not really. the scoop doesn't really provide much down force. If you tried to dig down, it would just skid along the surface.

Hi Eric, thanks for posting these videos! Did you have this scoop on the Husqvarna? How did it do? I have the same tractor and keep reading about a weak frame on them. Know anything about that?
@FarpointFarms
@FarpointFarms 6 лет назад
Yes, I've had this thing installed on everything from the YT3000 to the Husqvarna GT52xlsi and now the old GT6000. I have also read something about "weak frames" on the Husqvarna GT's but I can tell you that I have not had any issues with mine. The scoop worked great on it, and the only reason I took it off was so I could mount the Snow plow on it.

No. You'll need a cultivator to soften the soil before scooping it up.

The reason cpl of you guys who posted on this video have heard about Husqavarna having weak frames is because they do,, if you investigate you will find that their frames are made from 12 gauge “Sheet metal” not hardened steel angle or channel.. like a john deere or cub cadet the 90’s and 80’s versions not the mtd cubs or box store john Deere’s.. of today ,,, which have hardened steel channel frames made to do real work,, sorry these are the facts fellas.. the fella that makes these videos seems like a real nice fella ,, but what amazes me is that he hasnt figured out that the supposed garden tractors he is spending all this money on are just yard tractors throw away machines ,, if he would just invest the money in a good older used John Deere Or Cub Cadet,,, he could have one really good machine that can do everything from back hoe work to a real front end loader and mow the grass all on one tractor ,,, why keep flushing money down the toilet on these made for the ill informed consumer to steal their money .. it is all stamped sheet metal junk,, that do virtually nothing ,,, but as one pointed out wheel barrow work ,,, just my take on it not trying to be negative just stating actual facts ,,

PhatboyHD88 If you watch the first videos of this series you'll see he only spent $40 on the tractor and around $250 to fix it up. How much of a JD or a Cub can I get for under $300? Personally I don't care how little my "throw away tractor" can lift as long as it can lift more than me and it saves MY back. I looked long and hard for any "good machine", I found that the ones I could afford were shot to hell and would have cost me a lot more than $300 to get in any kind of decent condition. If anyone out there wants to offer me their non "box store" JD or Cub in running shape for $300 drop me a line lol. I'm not bias to any Brand of machine as long as it does what I need it to do.
@Ahch.
@Ahch. 6 лет назад
PhatboyHD88 Probably would have to step up to a Kubota BX model to handle any significant back hoe or front end loader work. What we have here is a glorified wheel barrow. Might be an expensive one too

I liked the demo, but looked like a pretty wimpy job. Is that the best the front loader can do? How about a "real" job? Dave
@FarpointFarms
@FarpointFarms 7 лет назад
Ha! Well, It was the only job I had at the time to do. I have used it to move both gravel, and mulch. It worked fine for those jobs too, but do keep in mind that its capacity is around 250LB, and when it comes to gravel, that's a lot less than a full bucket.
