I've been gifted an r56 and read all the horror stories, because of them I spent 3+ days trying to avoid putting my mini into front end service mode trying to replace the oil filter housing gasket. After watching this and replicating, I wish I'd done it sooner, thank you for putting such a great tutorial together and showing just how easy it is

Great video. Fast. Informative. To the point. Thanks. I was so excited to see a video that didn't waste time on superfluous things that I did donate to your fundly. Thanks for helping. I'm halfway through a downpipe replacement (hi-flo catted) and I was thinking about service mode and just doing the oil/water housing bracket leak thing while I'm at it.

Great video, I love how you explain things , and honestly your channel an knowledge of mini helped me so much, and now I practically live by mini, but me as the warranty . I noticed you mentioned turbo vs no turbo disassembly, one thing I noticed, when you took off headlights, and I'm not sure if this is model specific or package specific, but some do have headlight sprayers, (just a tiny hose connected to side of headlight ) simple push clip on both sides an pull. They are rarely hard to get off. But yeah just a heads up boss man 🤙 knowledge is power. Also I love how you split this vid from your alternator video. Genius

Just found your channel thanks the r/MINI reddit channel. I have a 2014 R60 base (Countryman), and there's just a dearth of information on these more complex procedures-- your site is an oasis of information. This is great stuff! Subscribed. In that vein, I'm hoping you have the time to answer a couple of quick questions: - How significant are the differences between this and the R60 Countryman (base)? -I s there a list of torque measurements to reference when putting things back together? I tried finding a service manual for the 2014/R60, but I can't find anything except a PDF on ebay, and it references a bunch of BMW torque codes that don't really tell me ft# or newtons. Thank you again for your hard work in putting these videos together! I hope your channel is paying off!

hi many thanks for your helpful videos, i have a quick question, i am about to do the timing belt on my wife's 2008 cooper d will i need to put it into front end service mode or will i be able to do the belt change without moving the front? thanks again
@ModMINI
@ModMINI 5 лет назад
I don't know anything about the diesel variant. There is no timing belt on a gasoline engine and it is not necessary to put into front end service mode to replace the timing chain, but doing so gives a lot more room.

Hi buddy great video, I just have one question please - I have a 2010 Cooper s N18 and the front bumper has lower air scoops either side of the number plate, how do I remove these from the car to remove the whole bumper ? Kind regards Jay from the UK
@ModMINI
@ModMINI 2 года назад
Remove plastic connectors behind wheel arches. Reach in and yank out back half of the duct on each of L and R side. Bumper comes off with front half of ducts attached. Assemble in reverse order

Awesome video again, you know these cars in and out. Quick question I have had my R53 since new, 70,000 km on it I want to start upgrading the car, looking to turn it into a quick road car. With an occasional run on the track I live on Vancouver Island so a pretty similar climate to Seattle, with the pulley upgrade would you recommend a 15% or a 17%, I have read that the 17% will create a bit of heat, will the cool damp air on the coast here be enough along with a cooler plug or would you recommend the 15%? Along with a CAI, header, how much larger injector can I go on the stock map and head? Thanks Colin
@ModMINI
@ModMINI 6 лет назад
Just get the 15. The 17 creates too much heat and works best at high speeds with lots of airflow. You'd need a bigger intercooler at least. I don't know a lot about tuning but I think you can only go to the JCW injectors on a stock tune. Talk to whoever is manufacturing your head for more specific injector or tuning advice.

Hi do you have any information on how to remove the rally lights on some models?
@liamgf12
@liamgf12 11 дней назад
3m30s in and I understand why that clip was missing, what a pain to remove. 5m20s in and those 3 clips, would have been great if mine were missing. Couldn't remove the pins, the heads just sheared. Eventually prised the clip out with the pin still in, hammered the pin out and will be replacing the pin with stainless hex head M5 machine screws. They'll unscrew or I can get mole grips on them next time.

do you recommend this mode for changing manifold/cat , 1.4 mini one, seems to be no room to get in to remove even the heat shield.
@ModMINI
@ModMINI 2 года назад
For turbo, the downpipes can be removed without front end service mode. For non-turbo, the front has to come off.

I have been working on this MIni cooper s 2009 turbo for a month now I finally got it to run after cylinder head change now is running rough with all cylinders misfiring and smoking while idealing drove it around the block runs rough on low rpm but high rpm's has great power checked compression a;; cylinders hold between 90 and 100 PSI I have a base mini cooper 2009 I swapped coils and cam sensor but nothing changed fyi I have a leak in the exhaust (I don't think this is my issue )??? please advise thanks Mina
@ModMINI
@ModMINI 6 лет назад
Would need to check the car out honestly. Engine 90PSI is low. Was everything properly torqued and cleaned and in spec? One possibility is a failed head gasket job. Or, engine is out of time. Or you need to reset engine adaptations. But that probably wouldn't explain smoke.
