unfortuentlly its now 2024 and we just got FM2 on PC, I'm glad to say its mostly good even if i feel like i need to save scum on the higher difficulties. but the FM3 remake is still going to happen so lets all keep our fingers crossed. here's hoping for FM4 &5 remakes and a full NG+ for FM3. i want that damn super mech, you know the one, its red and looks like the only boss mech you can actually use.

Front Mission 4 and 5 were my fav. i got real fond memories of this game with my wife she passed in 2017 and we played the hell out of 4 we would each take a character and id pick how i wanted it to go. we were big O.G. steel battalion on the 1st xbox was a very big hit with us too. i even made her a tankers helmet from the army navy store and wired my xbox mic through it and put some symbols on it when we would play Line Of Contact. good vid ...ty for the nice memory lane trip
I am sorry for your loss. My brother died in 1996. He and I used to sit and play Donkey Kong Country 2 for hours during the summer of that year. I can't explain it, but playing the game connects me to him like few other things can. Video games have that ability, like few other things do. Thanks for watching and sharing your memories!
You criticise Front Mission 1 for being slow. Were you aware there was an option to speed up battles in the DS version? Press start during a mission and select settings. You should find it there. If you're playing an emulator you can fast foward to speed up the game even more
My thoughts exactly on Forever Entertainment's Front Mission 1st Remake! It's literally just a port of the DS game, Front Mission 1st but with a coat of CG paint slapped on top and as an aging gamer, I personally cannot stand outdated mechanics when it comes to modern day remakes and is probably the reason why I haven't bought 1st Remake and 2 Remake though FM2 Remake just got a big patch and fixes. I highly recommend playing FM5 with the fan translated patch if you're a FM3 fan because FM5 is literally a direct prequel to FM3 (the game's final act begins in Alaska where M.I.D.A.S. is being tested), in a nutshell, FM5 follows Walter Feng, someone who is involved with all 4 previous FM games in one way or another as an USN pilot (orphaned from the First Huffman Conflict, takes part in the infamous battle of Freedom City during the Second Huffman Conflict from FM1, has a mission to the precursor to the Alordesh Coup D'etat on oil tankers and FM4's small incident is mentioned during a briefing). FM4 has great gameplay and Darril's story was great but the lack of emphasis on Elza, The Durandal, Rolf Wagner/Blauer Nebel and boring EC/Zaftra conspiracy story really pulled the score down for me... Evolved pulled the soft reset card by setting the game 50 years later while the events of Left Alive hardly impacts the Front Mission timeline, from what I remember, it takes place not too long after FM5 and FM3 and how Zaftra's economy and power has dwindled from the events of FM4. Something about a mercenary force invading a neighboring city from Zaftra and testing a new bioweapon that was meant to kill everyone including the hired mercenary force and an Android spy that takes the identity of a dead leader of a freedom fighters...I dunno, Left Alive makes it more apparent that the world of Front Mission is not so different from Metal Gear Solid with the conspiracies, terrorist groups perpetuating war amongst Super Nations and the grounded technology but yeah, Left Alive was just really a bad game with a bunch of A-listers attached to it.
