we continue our journey of restoring the brakes on a 1978 Yamaha XS1100 that has been sitting for over 20 years. In this video, we focus on rebuilding the Front master cylinder, which is responsible for applying hydraulic pressure to the front brake pads.
We start by removing the master cylinder from the bike and disassembling it to inspect its condition. We then clean and polish the master cylinder piston and rebuild the cylinder using new seals and O-rings. We also replace the brake fluid and bleed the brake system to ensure optimal performance.
Throughout the video, we offer detailed explanations and step-by-step instructions for each stage of the rebuild process. We also provide tips and tricks for working on vintage motorcycles and troubleshooting common issues that may arise during the restoration process.
If you're interested in learning more about restoring vintage motorcycles, be sure to check out our channel for other "how-to" videos. We cover a wide range of topics, from engine rebuilds to electrical system repairs, and we're always looking for new challenges to take on.

Which way does the seal go in after the spring? You didn't show that. The seal is cupped. Does it go in with the cupped side to the spring or the plunger?

How does the brake light cable come off? Does it twist off or simply pop off?

@@jimrowe4177 There is a hole on the bottom side of connection🏍, press it up with screwdriver and pul it out. It took me some time to figure out.
