I was almost expecting the Crickets to slowly get louder and louder until the characters had to yell over them just to get a word in

Why is the acting/story/script in this one-man skit genuinely better than any play I've ever seen?

This is so unexpectedly sweet and touching. It makes me love and respect Cole Escola even more than I thought possible.

Brilliantly done, I actually forgot I was watching the same person and it wasn’t done in real time. The reactions felt so real. And Cole in dungarees with a hat and that southern accent, oh myyy!

Did not expect to start crying... The sun and the moon analogy at the end really broke my heart.

this guy is ferociously talented, what a beautiful, poetic, humorous, tear jerking scene

It took me way too long to realize they were the same person... Then I got way too invested in the story. A real character actor! Damn.. and the writing was good too! I'm making up an ending in my head, it's a happy one.

Feel like the relationship between these actors is that he went into community theater after his mother told him to try something new bc he was still feeling down about his dad hiring his classmate for that grocery store job over him (which dad said was just a matter of professional performance but doesn’t seem to understand that the point, like mom says, was to get their son a job and experience and to spend time with his dad for once!) and he ends up falling for his costar, who always gets the lead female role in everything and isn’t into him at all. She’s rich enough to have horses and makes her friends play improv games when they come over then gets a little irritated when they think they’re playing right and they’re not and you get the sense that correcting them by citing her cool drama teacher from 11th grade (who wasn’t creepy, but was just like TOO into trying to fit in with the students?) is something she’s actually serious about even though she acts like she’s joking but really Jess you can’t send a “Zop” back to the person who “Zapped” you for the last gosh darned time
