Just the video I needed. Seems straight forward enough, except I'll need a press.. I did the rear bearings last week, it's a combined unit.

Yea, unfortunately the front are pressed. Id recommend getting the bearing and hub kit. Often the race of the bearing will stick to the hub and need to be cut off. This can cause a scuff/cut in the hub and cause premature wear to the new bearing.

@@MegaMilesBen Not if you use the right tool. Now there are tools easy to use and save money. don't have to buy a new hub

True but as much stress as the lug studs get, if youre doing a new bearing, you might as well spend another $30 for saftey with a new hub. Being cheap doesnt always pay off in the end.

@@MegaMilesBenI bought the Astro pneumatic wheel bearing kit. It made easy work of it. I tried to get a free rental but all my local parts stores had them out on loan. It was well worth the 78 bucks I paid for the kit.

No, my clients provide their parts, it keeps it much cheaper for them. He had one and forgot it or was picking one up, I dont remember, its been a bit since this video. Hes been a client for years.

I feel so dumb for asking, but the things you take off that you bent with pliers what are they called? Cause obviously we're gonna have to buy new ones lol, but I don't know what their called?

Dont feel that way. Its called a snap ring and you want snap ring pliers to get it out. The set I have is like this (I got mine at Harbor Freight)... amzn.to/45DRxsC

the hub is 154K miles. if my car drives 99% freeway, hwy or expressway wherever you call it, do I need a new one? The OEM costs a lot, so I think is worth it to re-use. I don't drive like a maniac and do all the maintenance, keeping my car in shape all the time.

I've got a Sonata of this same gen, and my left front wheel makes a rubbing noise when I turn left, but when I look, there is nothing at all that makes contact with anything. It is loud enough to hear inside of the car when the radio is off. It's not a constant noise, but sounds like once per wheel rotation. Could that be a bad bearing?

Yes or cv shaft even. Lift the front of the car up to get the wheels off the ground. With one hand on top of the tire and one hand on the bottom of the tire, pull and push to see if there is any play. If you can wiggle the tire/wheel up and down (not side to side, thatd be tie rods and not the noise youre lookkng for), its a bad bearing. Having the wheels off the ground also gives you the ability to spin the wheels and track the noise.

@@MegaMilesBen I did try spinning it with the car off the ground, but it didn't seem to make the noise then, which makes me wonder if the weight has to be on it. I haven't tried seeing if it moves like that though, I will check.

I'm not really sure, I'm not your typical shop. It would vary depending on car. Your location would play a lot into labor costs as well. Google would be a better place to ask this question. I'm sorry.

I just tried to do this job for my friend and it's all rusted. I gave up after I couldn't get the dang brake caliper bracket off. I might try again tomorrow. This video shows me it's certainly possible even if it is a PITA. Thank you!

Rust is an enemy for sure. I use wd-40 over like pb blaster and such. It seems to work better in my opinion.

Is there a way to check to find out which tire the bearing is bad on? I have a bad bearing but I’m not sure if it’s the passenger front or rear tire. I just know the noise is coming from that side of the car. Thank you for this video.

Jack it up and spin the wheels or take it to a shop to find out which one if youre unable to pinpoint which one.
