I over thredded that bolt at 4.43 on my dad's ford capri and I never told him because he will be pissed, few days later on the dual carriageway he was driving at 45mph when the bloody thing came out ,thank God he was alright.
Hey i bought that red case bearing tool from Amazon and the 4 studs that are placed on the plate are of two different lengths! I would advise anyone doing this job to buy a US Pro tool as this red case tool really left me in a pickle when i needed to do the job.
Good video and all but .... there's no way in hell that ball joint and tie rod end just popped out like that. I've changed my own and I've driven a lot of different vehicles and ive yet to see those joints just "pop" out.
I just took off the whole lower control arm from the frame and left the lower ball joint bolt on. Easier to do that then to try to free the stuck lower ball joint.
The wrench I'm using works like this www.tohnichi.com/discontinued/files/tohnichi_torque_QL_click.gif . I see no harm in using this type of click torque wrench over the setting. In general I do not recommend it though.
